Why exactly do we care where our president was born? I've met many people who moved here in their 20s or later who are better Americans than a lot of people born here.

The naturally born citizen provision was to prevent a takeover by the inbred single family of European royalty. It is an obsolete threat, and as such serves no useful purpose except to give a certain segment of cock-stroking xenophobes a reason to hoot and holler about what a "real Amer'cun" is as they chug shine sittin' round down in the holler. However until it is amended it is (unfortunately) the law.
