Well... Yes. Yes I do.

Those holidays - veteran discounts - etc... are done to place them as separate from normal people - almost as if they are on a higher pedestal. They are in a special category. Almost to say that normal people should appreciate them for all of the work they do.

They are thus placed in a higher regard than others by our society.

Is that the objective that people seek with LGBTBBQ+-=?

Is this subject honestly that mentally challenging for you to wrap your head around?
So that means you are for segregating veterans from non-veterans, then? Since that is the term you used.

The objective with pride month is to elevate the public views on a LGBT person to that of a non-LGBT person, since historically, that has not been the case.

You says having special days and flags creates segregation, read your own message.

Yes - where in any of that does that mean I'm in favor of it?

Going back to my original point of LGBTBBQ - I stated that no one cares what genital you stick in what orifice. Normalization and acceptance occurs when you no longer feel the need to tell people about something that no one cares about.

You said you were in favor of it for veterans, again read your own posts. If it's segregation for LBGT then it is for veterans.

Also you claim no one cares, yet in the same post you are making fun on the acronym in a way that is generally done by homophobes.

Normalization occurs when you're no longer a marginalized group subject to hate crimes or mocked by others for who you are.

You know. Like purposefully using LGBTBBQ instead of LGBTQ.

You keep bringing the act of sex into this. You realize this is much more than that right? A huge part of this is to help people understand that it's also about who people are as a person. And not who they choose to be with. You focus solely on the latter when the former is actually far more important.

I used to think like you. I eventually grew up.

Again, why is reading comprehension such a challenge for you? How many strawman can you pull, I figure you would run out at some point?

At no point did I say I was in favor of propping up Veterans. I clearly said WE as a society do it. I did not say or indicate I was in favor of it. In fact, my very first sentence in response to you clarifies that.

I'm sure you feel the same way about veterans on memorial and veterans day, right?

Well... Yes. Yes I do.

If I "feel the same way", then why would I indicate it was any different for veterans?

It reminds me of a similar conversation on another board back during don't-ask-don't-tell. No matter how hard I tried to explain it, I couldn't seem to get the people I was talking with to wrap their brains around the idea that the problem with DADT wasn't that people wanted to be talking about sexytimes in the workplace.
