argh why is office furniture so damned expensive?

I know the markup on these things is rediculous.

I am looking for a desk that will fit in the corner of a room. I want my monitor(s) right in the corner with work space to the left and to the right.

Frickin everything is like $500....

anyone know a good place to get this stuff for cheaper?
 
Ikea is your friend. I've got a nice corner desk that I got from Ikea for $100. It's held up very well over the past few years I've had it.
 
office max/depot- cheap stuff, halfway decent quality. ive got a great desk for like $60 on sale.
 
I've got a 6 food 8billion pound desk that probably retailed for 1500-2000 dollars, my cost - 50 bucks. Yard sales baby. Also found a decent one at a local office furniture supplier that sold hella expensive desks but had some used ones in the back, it needed to be refinished whereas this one was in great shape

You realize how terrible Feng Shui that is, right?

Anyway, Office Max, Staples, etc seem to have reasonable prices.
