I know they are bad for floppies but aren't they bad for hard drives as well.
I recently put together another system and the case that I got had a speaker in front just above where a fan would go and about two inches below where the hard drive would go. The hard drive is mounted in a metal cage, so I pull the cage from the case and I go to put it back so I will know how to fit it back in..
I feel a strong pull on the metal cage to the speaker. So I pull the speaker out and play around with it..This sucker is strong, picking up screwdrivers from just the point and all. Now this sucker would have been sitting very close to my hard drive and would have been less than an inch away if I had mounted it in the lower bracket. Is this bad?
This is the only thing I found bad with the case(thick side panels and all..can barely hear it running with a delta cpu fan.
