Have you ever wondered what kind of aircraft they are working on out there? I've always wondered this for years since I was in high school and perhaps maybe even elementary school when I checked out books from the public library about UFO's and aliens.

I don't believe they have aliens and UFO's or any of that crap. But The Roswell incident does raise some questions. I personally think they make aircraft, build the thing, go through all the testing and then when they have satisfactory results they might disable the aircraft, store the blueprints and computer code on an air-gaped server for later use in case we go to war or if the time arises that we need said aircraft with those capabilities.

One aircraft I think they may have worked on or are working on is a mach speed carrier aircraft. Can you imagine the enormous implications? To be able to send military hardware and troops to the battle field in hours would be a very huge strategic advantage.

One thing is for sure. Until the Osama raid, I never imagined we had stealth blackhawk helicopters. I mean I've heard of the comanche, but never thought they would have a stealth blackhawk. And to think they spent around 7 billion with a B on the comanche yet shelved it! I have a funny felling they already have a replacement or replacements. To tell you the truth, I think autonomous aircraft is the wave of the future. Speaking of drones, Area 51 has one for surveillance. You can't get anywhere near that place without being seen. LOL I also think they monitor the airwaves for radio traffic. I seen video of trucks with antennas roaming around there and I can only imagine they are doing some awesome scanning of the bands. This is one damn Top Secret place!

For a good read, read about EG&G and the companies involved with the Manhattan Project. Companies quite literally own Uncle Sam's ass. Contracts, contracts, contracts and some with almost unlimited funding since it's from a "black budget."

Here's a quick low down. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EG&G

Conspiracy theorists love to comment on things they don't have any evidence to support so who really knows what happened at Roswell outside of those who were actually there. When it comes to secret aircraft I've seen some very interesting vehicles in the /Carolinas over the years in broad daylight near AF bases. When I was a kid a flight of 6 forward swept wing airplanes passed overhead while driving up the coast and I'd never seen the configuration before that time. I don't believe in aliens and UFO's are just unidentified vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers camouflage test mules every day and drive them out in public disguised to hid their true identity and features.

The thing that tickles me the most about supposed UFO encounters is how grainy and low resolution all of the evidence is when we live in an age of high definition recording equipment. YouTube has a multitude of channels devoted to having fun with people in this way. I find it hilarious that people believe in all of this and think that our government is flying fantasy machines like some movie when we can't even replace our aging railroads with maglev technology. I'd rather see a levitating mass transit vehicle that didn't require a track or road that benefitted the masses.

Some of the aircraft developed/tested at Groom Lake in the 20th century are still really impressive, so whatever they've been working on there in recent years (in presumably greater secrecy) must be really cool. I think besides drones they must be testing energy weapon platforms - which admittedly sounds very sci-fi and conspiracy theory fodder, until you realize Boeing and others publicly stated they've been testing them for years. Unfortunately in real-life not all of them are the bright neon beams with audible pew pew pew variety (though like fake exhaust notes in cars, I'm sure the sounds can be generated for operator satisfaction :D).

There's probably a lot of ECM development going on there, too.

What would really be cool - but not easy to engineer, or all that practical to develop yet - would be drone aircraft with fully articulating wings, in the way birds can extend their wings and manipulate them down to feathers or sections of feathers subtly in flight. They would be much more maneuverable than fixed wing aircraft or even rotary/VTOL craft, while taking up less space stored. Potential stealth applications, too, as the radar cross section could be close to nil, and minimal noise if gliding depending on the powerplant. Imagine a carrier being able to house hundreds or even thousands of swarming drones... scary.

Materials science might not be there yet and it could be inordinately expensive to manufacture birdlike drones, but that's what I'm picturing the future might look like with zero knowledge of aircraft tech. :p

I loved all the conspiracy theories in the 90s about Area 51 but here we are many years later in the age of wikileaks and nothing really exciting has come of it. I'd say that they may be working on stuff but it isn't anything unimaginable. And the government is certainly not hiding aliens because this secret could not have been kept this long.

probably nothing much going on there. since the US govt admitted A51 even exists, i figure it likely means they have done away with "secret weapon building". Mostly because contracting "secret weapon building" to companies like Google is actually cheaper and more effective than the do it yourself of the army grunts. If you want secret, look at cyber-espionage.

also, UFO hoax

When I was on active duty I performed physical security around the Strategic Defense Initiative sites which housed directed energy weapons that actually worked. The problem was that they required enormous amounts of energy to produce that effect but had the capability of shattering solid objects rather than just burning a hole through them. I can speak of this because public relations released this test to the media for publication right after my military police company worked for hours on end to keep the area secured.

Not all UFO footage is grainy. ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6737MHrReg

I believe if I can remember, this was on the news as well. Been years.

If it's not grainy there's something else wrong with it. That one is a proven fake, it's as real as the spaceships in Independence Day.

Cartoons of Casper are not grainy, but the only people who believe they're evidence of actual ghosts are monumental fuckwads.

There another channel on youtube that has supposed ships circling the moon early in the morning on a regular basis which I find quite amusing. They supposedly set up a telescope with a dvr focused on the moon and record all night and highlight the images at they leave the lunar surface. It wasn't so long ago that people tried to say that Gulf Breeze, FL was a UFO hotspot with faked images and home made movies of these encounters which were completely ludicrous.

My local sheriff's department likes to hover their airships around town with the search lights in glow mode to emulate a star which doesn't draw attention to their presence. They can remain on station for several hours this way over an area conducting surveillance while people on the ground are none the wiser. The only way you can tell its them is their light has a slightly yellow hue to it when a star has a clean white appearance.

Actual research? Spaceplanes, and further advances in directed energy weapons, as well as high-energy mass drivers (rail guns), both for large platforms (like destroyers/huge aircraft). Those are pretty neat and don't require UFOs.

I think hypersonic propulsion is the new thing they're trying to achieve. I think they can do it but are still developing heat shielding technology.

Newly posted video that's gone viral of them burning something. I remember they were burning toxic waist and there was a huge lawsuit that officially put Area 51 on the map. Either they are doing that again, or burning their trash.

It is common knowledge that they burn wreckage. The fumes may not be safe to breathe.

Were they doing P90X?
