I think anything they do is probably mostly underground, they would not be testing top secret aircraft in a wide open area that enemy satellites can capture. Not to mention that even Google's satellites have captured and they have not been asked to mask it out on Google Maps. So it seems to me they don't have much to hide on the surface, but considering they do have super security on the ground they still have a lot of top secret stuff to hide. Perhaps they develop and test various small weapons so it could be full of shooting ranges and various underground areas like that. The run ways and other "airportish" look and alien stuff is probably just a distraction but I'm sure it doubles as an air base too, just not really any more special than an other. At least that's my guess.

I don't really believe in the alien stuff myself but would not really put it past the US government to hide the fact, if there really was aliens that had been found. I just don't believe there are any that have come near here if they even do exist. Though there are plenty of stories about really weird stuff and then the government is very secretive about it, so I'm open to the idea of them perhaps existing...

Either way whatever goes on there is probably rather advanced top secret technology that may or may not be used in war. Like once it's developed perhaps it's not really that top secret anymore, but they don't want plans to get out before the weapon is actually being used.

They may or may not have some underground facilities. I'm doubting it though. Their hangers there are more than adequate and over the last 8 years I've watched the base grow, so they are using hangers. I do know for a fact they test fly their stuff at night where Sats can't see. And that is the best time to catch something you never seen before if you ever go near there.

Does the government have alien technology? I kinda doubt that. There are many conspiracy stories out there about how we were given stealth technology from aliens in exchange for something of which I can't remember. But that theory is so fake it's not even funny, well, sort of funny. I read it was actually a Russian that invited stealth, or at least his math equations or something.

I for one am really glad we have such a place and the shit that they must have built and/or working on. I have always said that technology will win a war. Who ever possess the best tech in combat will win. Just look at Germany during WWII. They had some awesome shit and invented the first jet aircraft. But it was far too late in the war to make any real difference.

They've probably also tested random weird stuff there, like that NAZI bell that supposedly can kill people in a large radius just because of the frequency it puts off. They did test fly it once, I don't recall where, I don't think it was Area 51. It crash landed in the bush and they pretty much had military guarding the whole area until they could locate and recover it. Nobody knows if even the NAZIs ever got a chance to fly it let alone if the tech works. Probably lot of interesting stuff of that nature happens at Area 51 too.
