He posts a thread about once a week because he's depressed about his job, living with his parents, etc., but he doesn't have the stones to do anything about it. He has a trillion excuses, too. He's basically just sitting around waiting for a dream job to land in his lap.

Enough already.
 
There have been so many wildly unpredictable changes in my life that I would be permanently dizzy and disoriented if I'd been the type to have had set and specific expectations for how my life would unfold, but I've never really been that way, so it otay, life otay.

And, my oh my, what a long, strange trip it's been! :laugh:

I am grateful for all the damn good friends I have had and have, for my late parents and their love, for the gift beyond gifts that was my late wife Jessie, and for all the four pawed familiars that have stood proudly by my side.

I keep my soul aflame with the knowledge of what a rare and unrepeatable gift life is, magic beyond my mind's comprehension, and to wake each day with the wisdom in my heart that today is a good day to die! :thumbsup:





 
10 years ago I had no idea where I'd be but today I can say I'm pretty close to the vision I had back then...

 
Pretty close. I don't live where I thought I would be living (in Southeast...thought I'd be in Northwest), but I have a sweet and beautifual fiance, a good paying job, great friends, a great house exactly where I wanted to live in town and have traveled pretty regularly. So I'm not a millionaire (didn't think I would be), but my life has been pretty fortunate...certainly not complaining.
 
Yes and no.

It's 80% for me.

I'm doing what I thought I would be (almost), I'm in the city I wanted to live in, I graduated from the university I wanted to go to.. but there are a few nagging things personally that I haven't accomplished that sort of taint the entire thing.
 
No, I'm not. I'm way past where I had any inkling I might be. I have pretty much everything I could have asked for. Yay for being in the right place at the right time 😛
Then again, in high school I had no idea where I was going or where I wanted to be.
 
I still got my whole life ahead of me. Im 23 now, and I work as Technical Business Support, been working abroad a cople of years, I have a great fiancee just bought our own house. So far its all good.


One wise man said to me up until youre 20 you make your dreams. Up to the age of 30 you try to make them come true. from the age of 40 and up you're living them.

I tend to go with that philosophy, I try to work my way up the company ladder now, switching jobs now and then to try toi know more about myself and who I am. I got plenty of time to make my dreams come true.
 
yeah, pretty much exactly where I expected. Getting done with an Associates' degree and working on starting my own little business. I had hoped I'd be making more than $13.50 an hour at 22 yrs. old but that shouldn't last much longer.
 
Pleasantly enough, yes. (knock on wood)

I have a job that I love helping people, I have a wonderful husband who I enjoy sharing and enjoying life with, and financially things are very stable and moving to the point where we will soon be investing in a house, possibly a future family, etc.

Yes, pretty much exactly where my goals put me at 48 years old. Another seven years and I should be retired and living the life of Riley.

Go back to school and move on with your life... I keep telling you pontifex. Or get a new career.

Start from the bottom even if it is a pay cut.

Being 5 years out of high school I think I am where I thought I would be. I had a child while still in High School, got married at a young age. If I look back at my Sophmore year in High School, doing well in basketball (as I did for the remainder of my High School years), I thought I would have went to college and played somewhere.

Life took an awckward turn and I'm pleased with how far I have come despite the setbacks. I wish I could have had my daughter after getting out of college and have a degree, but i'm working towards a degree now at night as my work pays for it. It is a nice situation to be in.

I would recommend a trade or vocational school to anyone who wants to do something different but doesn't have the ability to go to a college.
 
I graduated from HS 18 years ago. Didn't go to college, got married, worked in a print shop. At that point I certainly wasn't where I thought I'd be in life!

I joined the Army when I was 26. I got out after 5.5 years and got a job as a gov't contractor in IT. I've been doing that for 4 years now so at this point I'm doing better than I thought I would.

Now I'm really tired of IT. I'm starting classes at the local CC in spring and I'm going to finally work at getting a degree so I can make a career change and get the heck out of IT.
 
Nowhere near where I thought I'd be, and I'm thankful for that every day. I thought I'd have a good life, but it turned out even better.
