Drinking game: Every time someone on the news outlet mentions "end of the world," or something in that context, swallow one milliliter of some manner of alcohol.

You'll still be hospitalized by the end of the day from excessive consumption, at which point the local news will pick up the story because it was loosely related to the end of the world.

While I don't believe in any end of the world nonsense, I do believe in emergency preparedness. Just coincidentally, this month I've loaded up on about 20,000 rounds of ammo. Also, level 3 body armor for the entire family, three months worth of dehydrated food and MREs, about $800 in medical supplies, and another $3000 in prepper staples (e.g. plastic film to cover windows, tools, purification supplies, door guards, waterproof containers, gas cans, etc.). Bring it on!
