Well when you have an idiot for a president and a war who most believe does not serve a purpose to begin with, you won't get much out of people.

To P&N you go! :|

Feel free to leave this country any time. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I am of course registered and would serve if required to do so. I don't see that happening anytime in the forseeable future, and I'm old enough now that I don't think I'd be one of the first to be drafted. The wars we are fighting now and in the future are won with technology, not with sheer numbers of poorly trained draftees.

Why aren't you in Iraq right now? Go sign up right now. Here's the goddamn link www.goarmy.com. Go sign up immediately, you steaming piece of crap, then go fight in your favourite war. Go kill and torture all your Iraqi enemies just like in Battlefield 2 or whatever videogame you play. I'll be cheering you on right here to get shot and piss on your grave when they bury you in Arlington.

Wow, you're just a real bubble of sunshine aren't you.

I kinda dislike the draft polls because they are not as relevant today. We have not had the draft since Vietnam. And considering that 2005 was the first time in a long time that the Army did not meet their recruitment goals (but still met over 90% of the goal) I do not think that the draft is going to be needed. That is as long as we do not drastically expand our military operations (which thankfully does not seem to be Bush's intent).

And I seriously doubt deaf people would be accepted. You have to be in mostly perfect physical shape to pass the physical.

IIRC when it comes down to draft time it doesn't matter if you have a medical condition I think they still draft you. I think probably the only thing that would stop you from being drafted is if you were a palaplegic or something like that. If you are fat, etc, I think you will still get drafted.

Drafting doesn't change the requirements for enlistment. If you're too overweight, you get denied when you show up with your draft card to enlist. If you're missing a limb, bye bye.

I think you'd still be in the Army... you'd probably just get transferred to Fort Leavenworth and get to spend some time in a military prison. That would probably be loads of fun.

Everybody does. That's how the draft works. The draft pulls ex-soldiers back to duty before your plum green next door neighbor. They go through certain age groups of discharged soldiers with active duty experience first, then certain age groups of dishcarged soldiers with no active duty experience, among others. Drafting your 18 year old brother who's a senior in high school will be last on the list.

No, you're a fvcking idiot. Get the hell out of our country. What the hell do you think the armed forces are doing in Iraq right now? They're killing people in a country that was no threat to us.

If you've got such big balls, why aren't you in the military right now? Why are you such a big pussy behind your computer talking tough? You're just a goddamn coward, you piece of miserable crap. You're telling people they don't understand the military when you're sitting there on your ass playing videogames. You're a sack of sh1t.

You do realize there are a plethora of conditions that will disqualify a person from military service?

Can someone please confirm whether or not this applies to being drafted? IIRC there are almost no stipulations other than being a cripple that makes you ineligable for the draft.

This sounds like a good opening for a funny Simpson episode.

Let me explain something to you.

It is possible to love your country but hate your government, especially the government that is in charge now.

I know this concept is too complicated for some of the idiots out there.

"bye bye" was referring to getting turned away for the draft. Like the recruiter going "bye bye, go home" not welcoming them off to war :p
