It is possible to love your country but hate your government, especially the government that is in charge now.

I know this concept is too complicated for some of the idiots out there.

Of course it's possible.

That's why you get 1-O classification in the draft and serve as a civie (non combat).

I am just talking to the "IF you don't like it you can just get out crowd"

Those idiots need to come up with something more original.

Your draft card has your draft number and that's it. You get classified when you're drafted.

I'm one of those idiots. People think that just because there's a draft that every high school senior is going to be dragged off overseas, dropped in the middle of a fire fight buck naked, and shot and stabbed and set on fire or something. People are morons. If you can't handle war, fine. Civilian duty for you. If you can't handle something as simple as non-combat, I suggest you get the f0ck out of the country and keep your fvcktarded ass out.

Feel free to leave this country any time. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I am of course registered and would serve if required to do so. I don't see that happening anytime in the forseeable future, and I'm old enough now that I don't think I'd be one of the first to be drafted. The wars we are fighting now and in the future are won with technology, not with sheer numbers of poorly trained draftees.

I don't like President Bush either, but I wouldn't be fighting for HIM, I would be fighting for the COUNTRY. There will not be a draft to fight the war in Iraq or the war in Afghanistan, or a war in Iran or North Korea if that happens. Stop using this thread to bash Bush. As bad as he is, he has nothing to do with this thread.

And I seriously doubt deaf people would be accepted. You have to be in mostly perfect physical shape to pass the physical.

IIRC when it comes down to draft time it doesn't matter if you have a medical condition I think they still draft you. I think probably the only thing that would stop you from being drafted is if you were a palaplegic or something like that. If you are fat, etc, I think you will still get drafted.

Wrong.

You have responsibilities as a citizen. If you're not willing to accept those responsibilities, then you really should not be a citizen. I don't care if it's the draft or jury duty.

I never said Bush and once again you assume.

And the fact is there will never be a draft anytime in the future, the American people will not accept it.

They don't have a choice to accept it or not. Besides, if not for Bush, then who were you referring to by "Not for the crazy bastards in charge now"?

"I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God."

So you really shouldnt be here if your not willing to do anything...

You really think the govenrment could force a draft? Very funny, a draft now would make the protests in vietnam look like a picnic and tens of thousands (if not hundreds) would refuse.

F U to the people who sad they wouldn't go to war if need be
you don't deserve a citizenship in this country

If a big-enough war were coming, I'd join the army before the draft

The government won't and isn't anywhere near considering a draft for our current conflict. Get your head out of your ass, boy.
