Yes, and I'm still on inactive reserve status. So if there was a recall I would probably be called on before you draftees. :)

Assumiing there's a draft right now and I get drafted. Would I have to go even if I was currently enrolled in college?

Yup. Doesn't mean I will serve if I was drafted.
As if you had a choice?

i have many choices. trust me.
Well, you pretty much have 3 choices:
Go to Canada (on foot or in car...good luck getting on a plane) and don't count on coming back
Go to Mexico (Ditto)
Hide in the US.

What else could you do? And unless a later administration granted you amnesty, you'd have a lot of fun trying to get a job (or loan, or driver's license, or ...) with a standing warrant for not reporting for the draft.

Too old right now, but the USAF didn't want to take me years ago back when I tried to enlist. Apparently the psoriasis on my knees makes me unfit for service.

I dont like the fact that so many women push for all these equality things, when they are not required to things like this. Ok, so women have all of our rights. EXCEPT they dont have to go into the military if there is a war, and they choose whether or not to have an abortion, etc. By no means do i think that i should have more rights than any woman. Im just saying, it isnt so fair is it? I have no choice if i get drafted, but someone of the opposite gender can sit at home and have no obligation to do anything. Think about it, things have flipped. Minorities and women have more rights these days than white males. It doesnt seem so equal does it?

I would go if drafted, but I don't think the US Army wants to send someone out to the battlefield with a gun and a grenade who is legally blind. :)

Simple, women, naturally, are physically weaker than men. And I'm not sure but I think men are more aggressive in nature. But there are plenty of other jobs in the Army that women would have no problem doing besides grabbing a heavy weapon and marching into the battlefield.

yes and yes.

you dodge the draft and you get out of the war, but you never get your life back. You go and keep your wits about you, there is a good chance you get to come home. I have to many ties to friends and family to just drop them and run.

I dont believe in the war in Iraq because I think the invasion was started based on lies and half-truths. But I love the fact that I can say that freely, so if the elected officials started a draft and i was drafted I would serve my country.
