niners need to get their act together. They could be very dangerous this year but something isn't quite right with them. Maybe its the new field? Maybe their act will change at game time? I dunno. But they did not look good in preseason.

Denver is going to be freaking dangerous, so is Seattle. Those two teams scare me.

Detroit is going to suck badly, very badly. Look for them to go 3-13. Oakland is my team to watch this year.

And we just happened to move a recliner into the TV room just in time.

Fuck this shit, bring on the NBA season!

I'll passively root for the Steelers again. And I hope the Seahawks continue to do well and the Broncos tumble 😀

This is essentially the most idiotic post to date.

Oakland has no offensive line -- Lions have one of the best. Coming into this year, Detroit also had the 1st ranking 3rd-down defense, they were in the top half of rushin defense, and we have great offensive weapons.

Now, that doesn't automatically mean we'll do that again this season, but Oakland has shown nothing but one good game from Carr in the preseason.

No, they are not the team to watch.

I have zero confidence in Jim Caldwell as a HC. Guy has a 26-63 college record as a HC. He inherited a world class offense run by Peyton and then showed his true worth as a coach when they went 3-13 after Peyton was out. Detroit has better pieces than that team did at the time, but they are also in a very tough conference. Chicago and Green Bay are elite offenses and Minnesota is going to be a sneaky good team.

He's the polar opposite of Schwartz when it comes to personality but I don't think he has any more HC scruples than Jimmy Handshake.

I'm not professing faith in Caldwell yet myself, but the season hasn't even started, and though Detroit isn't that much better than Oakland record-wise, we certainly have a better team -- that's why I don't get why even speak of Oakland and Detroit in the same breath.

I don't know how much stock you put into Caldwell's SB ring at OC in Baltimore. I don't put much at all, personally, but at least he's won something.

Gym Shorts was an emotional idiot -- that clearly came through when we flipped of the Lions fans during that epic collapse in week 16 v the Gmen.

Not ready for football. It was 90* today and feels like mid-summer.

That being said, at least there are a few good matchups in week 1.

How the fuck do you suspend an owner for 6 games? He should be banned from football operations for a specific amount of time.

Yep I expect the Falcons to lose. They will put up some points but like last year the defense will stay at home.

JAX is going to surprise a lot of people by beating Philly in week 1 and playing close to .500 ball this year.

No way. You have no freaking clue what you are talking about. I've posted much more idiotic things!

I said Oakland was my team to watch, not *THE* team to watch. They made some good moves in the offseason and they could be exciting to watch.

I lost all faith in the Lions after last season. They had zero reason not to win the division. Green Bay had no QB, Chicago had its usual QB drama and the Vikings were the Vikings. Detroit had the team to win the division even if Rodgers was healthy. But no, they screwed the pooch again. They lost to Tampa Bay at home! AT HOME! TAMPA BAY!

They still have no secondary to depend on. Suh may or may not finish the season and Fairley is lost in a bad weight watchers commercial. They lost Hill, so if Stafford goes down, they have nothing. Still have cold hands Pettigrew starting, so don't expect any passes to the tight end.

Then you figure in the coaching change and...well...for God's sake they have a coach named Jim Bob Cooter.

Niners are broken at nearly every position on the field: either age, injury, or the law. I expect them to have a rough season.

Detroit? what Detroit? I was sure they didn't have a team last year... :hmm:

It's my favorite OT tradition!

Deeko puts in a lot of effort, then everyone shits on him for it. 🙁

All I know is the Cowboys will somehow be chosen to win the NFC East. Their defence looks scary bad this year.

I'm actually a bit worried with the Eagles being the early favourites to win the division.

Probably look forward to his predictions more than any other I read. He puts a ton of thought and soul into it. I give him shit every year out of tradition.
