I am. I never thought I'd make it to 47. I'm constantly reminded by people I haven't seen in decades on facebook..."holy shit, you are still alive?"

Seems like a weird thing to be proud of. For me, I mean. Not you.
I've got an acquaintance who kind of reminds me of you, back when he hit forty he said that if he'd known he was going to live this long, he'd have taken better care of himself. He did a bunch of drugs and such in the 80s too.

Shrug, all I have done to accomplish that is not die. I never thought to be proud of that but I guess considering some of the dumb shit I have done in the past maybe I should reconsider.

Between the video card sub, the politics board, and any of the Jewish and Muslim board members you offended with your pork offering I think there would be casualties :fearscream:

In the mail? So they have your home address? I'd move asap. :grinning:

Nah. I was extremely anti-social in HS, major social anxiety. Nerds weren't cool yet, back in the late 90's. Kinda wish I could go back to high school now, where being techie is "in" :tongueout:

People are probably going to start getting participation medals and trophies just for making it to their birthday every year.

We must be similar in age...however I wasn't a techie back then, so I went to parties and was cool.

I'm 57. People routinely tell me I look a good 10 years younger than my age. Still don't need the little blue pill, so I guess it's all good.

That's the point. We get Mayne loaded on shitty Canadian beer. We get JohnCU back after we peel him off the floor from the night before. We get Kaido dishing out a spread of sides to go with the pig. We get yOyO to hook up the sick system. We'll have a stage with all sorts of instruments for those who play. Fritzo will be playing Led Zep - Communication Breakdown as the party starts. We can't forget Ross, who is footing the bill for the whole thing. Jules will bring the sunshine and the babes. Maybe a boat. AA & Ns will be flying in on the private jet where the landing strip will be. They said they're bringing the champagne and some Pho - so all is not lost. Whoever is left standing with me, we put Mayne in a wheelbarrow and roll him around the neighborhood.

Oh, and one last thing. We'll get DrPizza and Perk to deal with the cops that show up for noise complaints and the neighbors who call to ask about the guy in the wheelbarrow.

I did both (I'm a bit older than both of you), but playing guitar probably helped, and my anti-social "GFY" attitude worked pretty well since this was during the height of the grunge scene.

A person should be proud for their personal accomplishments, not so much the things that happen entirely out of their control. Like race/nationality/family name etc.

Yeah, I didn't discover my tribe until college...comp-sci baby! That's actually how I got introduced to ATOT...a few of us actually used to meet IRL haha. I am not a club/concert/etc. person whatsoever either...online gaming more than meets my daily social interaction requirements
