There were primative people though who did not speak a language you or I could understand. They'd probably kill you just for being different...that and we are probably a lot softer and weaker than man was during that time.

I have H2H training they don't, unless an entire village/group gets consistently pissed at me I'm not that concerned. Food would be the biggest issue IMO. Hunting with spears is a tall order that I'm willing to bet no one here (myself included) has done in their lives.

You're probably right. Earth was great at population control at the time. But I think that Bear Grylls might survive long enough to form a small tribe.

Civilization has its benefits. :)

LOL! Bear Grylls would be dead within a week if he didn't have his posse to run to the supermarket and buy bunnies or fish for him. If he didn't jump off a waterfall and break his neck first.

Never spear hunted, but I've used bow/arrow. Snare traps are pretty easy to make also. I think that, along with foraging I could keep myself fairly well fed.

Alone would be a real challenge. If you were allowed to take a group of ten men and ten women you could utilize modern knowledge to construct weapons and build a formidable tribe.

Of course group infighting would lead to your own self destruction before wild animals, diseases, or other humans could kill you.

Completely depends on the environment and native/natural predators, access to fresh water, and ability to sustain food and shelter.

But you could make the same argument for hundreds of places on earth right now.

For sure. I'd be dependent on the location looking something like the east coast USA. At least forest, with critters around. I'd be fucked now if you dropped me off in the desert without supplies.

My knowledge of what plants you can eat and basics on how to skin an animal would help, but mechanics will only get you so far when there is a hungry brown bear chasing you through the woods, so I'd probably die in a few weeks, maybe a month or two tops.

I can't really say how threatening natural predators would be. The food chain wouldn't have been as fucked up as it is now. Many of them might just look at us as nothing more than a random oddity instead of dinner.

South east coast preferably. Could evaporate/desalinate enough water easily enough to keep me going when fresh water isn't available, and I'd rather endure moderate heat than moderate cold. Want to cool down? Jump in the ocean/river.

Well, you would be in a group right? I mean, primitive humans lived in "packs" just like we do today. We are social herd animals afterall.

But nah, I'd still die. Horribly and screaming for mercy as the local hottie girl has rotted teeth and hairy pits.

I doubt people had much idle time on their hands back in the day.

I'd last a few hours unless I can trick some cave people to accept me as their god. I'd show them how to grind up meat and grains to make hamburgers.

You realize that most people weren't "man enough," to live back in 10,000 B.C. right?

If anything, if the smarter, more outdoorsy guys on this forum were transported back in time still keeping all their immunity shots and so forth, they could expect longer life span than the peeps living back then.

Actually, she wouldn't really have rotted teeth. Sure her mouth hygeine wouldn't be in great condition, but she wouldn't be exposed to the transfats, high sugar content etc. that most processed food has today.

This was exemplified even 3,500 years where mummies of the middle class in Egypt had far better teeth than the Pharaohs did. Unfortunately, nobody told him his dieting that made him a king, was also killing his teeth.

From what I understand, humans did try to clean their mouths, but I'm sure most probably died around 20-30 years of age...in 10,000 B.C.

Keep in mind this is still the hunter gatherer phase in the world. Domestication of pplants animals on a large scale has not happened yet.

I have not hunted with bows, but a friend has. I have not hunted at all, I have found no reason to. Although I like shooting off guns, I find killing critters I don't eat way in excess.

That said, I have practiced archery, especially in my youth, and it's a great sport. And I was shooting with your conventional wooden yew longbow, not the tricked out composite bows they have with all these stabilizers and shit. Those are lame.

No internet/wi-fi? I would have to pass.

If forced to, I'd make due though. I'm part Cherokee so I should have the genes to survive in it.

If Genes were all someone needed, we'd all manage quite well. Since we all descended from them.

Because we have immunity shots today for everything that was around 10k years ago. All the 'smarter' people wouldn't do that shit to begin with :D
