Even if I was a vegetarian, which I'm not, Being put in a survival situation, then refusing to eat animals for survival is just plain stupid.

I'd kill/cook/eat whatever came along.

You get a knife, a roll of TP and a book of matches. You are wearing cargo pants with detachable legs, a white tee and sweat shirt. You also have a weeks worth of MREs.

And thats it.

I refuse to wear cargo pants with detachable legs.

I would spend my days teaching the women about the joys of shaving.

With what? A rock?

I find it highly unlikely that any modern man could survive for long in 10,000 B.C. The 8 of you who voted yes are delusional.

Because I have to take meds I dont have a snowball's chance on a hot day. However, factor that out of the picture and I still probably would not survive for too long. I will NOT eat bugs and certain animals. I will eat plants, fruits and vegatables (assuming I am lucky enough to stumble upon them), but one wrong wrong plant and its game over. :'(

Then there is the whole shelter issue, getting skins from wild animals, dealing with no youtube, etc. I mean seriously, could you really get to sleep with things crawling all over, bloodsuckers flying around to drain you dry, man eating animals, 90% humidity and no air conditioner? I couldnt. Oh yeah, did I mention disease lurking everywhere and difficulty finding water?

If I did manage to survive at least a year, the aforementioned would be enough to drive any modern man insane.

Are you man enough for 10,000 BC?

Meh, don't know about the meds, but beyond that if forced you'd probably learn pretty quickly. Reference Cast Away.

10,000 BC isn't actually that long ago, life was still relatively the same as it is now, there weren't dinosaurs or anything.

So I'm suddenly in the Canadian wilderness, let's make it spring to be fair since winter would just be death. I've got the things I usually carry, so a pocket knife, wallet and keys.

Yeah I could "survive". There's plenty of edible bugs; worms, ants, moths. Could just mush them up and add some maple syrup. As long as I can make a fire and boil some water with pine needles within a few months that should avoid most nutritional deficiencies.

Very likely given ~9 months of trying before winter I could kill sufficient animals to make winter clothes, though I don't know how to tan hides so they'd probably stink horribly.

I think it would be fairly important to domesticate some animals, after some thought it would probably be best to start with a mountain goat or sheep because they're the least aggressive. I'll need to get a young one shortly after it's weaned from its mother since I have no way of providing milk for it. Once I have the goat I can milk it and domesticate other animals from a younger age, including hopefully a wolf cub who should make a suitable companion and protector.

I'd give all the weenies here, myself included, a few days max.

I don't know if you had some decent fighting skills... you could probably make a good life for your self. People were running around like animals so they respected the ones who could kick butt. Knock a few heads in and you would have your own village to rule.

I think I probably could, obviously no computers, so I'd have another pass time.

The vast majority of your day would probably be spent either hunting/tracking, maintaining your weapons, supplies and shelter or searching for various supplies, like firewood.

I doubt people had much idle time on their hands back in the day.

I'd be pretty happy in 10,000BCE. Assuming my eyes weren't like they are now, or were correctable, I'd do fine. It's not like there were dragons and demons wandering around. It's the same as it is now, just less paving.

The 10th millennium BC marks the beginning of the Mesolithic and Epipaleolithic period, which is the first part of the Holocene epoch. Agriculture, based on the cultivation of primitive forms of millet and rice, occurred in Southwest Asia. Although agriculture was being developed in the Turkish Highlands and the Fertile Crescent, it would not be widely practised for another 2,000 years.

The world population was likely below 5 million people, most of whom were hunter-gatherer communities scattered over all continents except Antarctica. The Würm glaciation ended, and the beginning interglacial, which endures to this day, allowed the re-settlement of northern regions. The most recent glacial ended circa 10,000 BC, and the world entered a period of global warming.

There were primative people though who did not speak a language you or I could understand. They'd probably kill you just for being different...that and we are probably a lot softer and weaker than man was during that time.

No. Not enough outdoor experience. I don't take meds and I have no problem eating most anything, but I'd still probably fuck up and get killed pretty quick.

Hopefully you can find your way through the twisted knotted steamy hot hair-cave that is between you and their vagina.
