I am 6'1" 170 LBS. not too tall nor short. I definitely notice bigger guys in the room and do get intimidated sometimes. You just don't want to piss off someone who is much bigger and stronger than you.

That's bad for me this year becuase my son has had a few motivation problems in school so I've had to meet with his 2nd grade teacher several times, and she's like 12 foot tall. She's very soft spoken, nice and attractive, but she makes me feel like a 2nd grader myself.

I get that reaction a lot more often than you'd expect.

I'm 5'9", and certainly not intimidated by size. I play a lot of basketball, and although more height would be nice, 95% of the time I can handle myself on the court :p

they always look so cool, calm and collected.

It kind of sucks that people always have to compare/compete/size each other up. It is a bad way to live life.

Jealousy is some pretty bad stuff.

I think that only works up to a certain heigh -> a girl that's taller than I (6ft) will be the one feeling awkward, because after all she's freakishly tall. However a 5ft 6 guy will definitely feel weird around a 5'8" girl

I've never felt "freakishly tall." And I've had guys taller than me tell me they were intimated by the simple fact that I can look them straight in the eye, or close to it.

Just out of curiosity, are you big or "large"? (As in, would southwest make you buy two seats?)

I suppose that's still managable, but if you're getting escorted by an avg height guy (5ft 8?) in high heels, it would look goofy.

I always curl up and start crying like an emo baby even with guys smaller than me. I get absolutely frightened. My hands shakes so I can't call my mom either.

guys do size each other up. I'm not necessarily intimidated but there is always some competition that will occur when you put a bunch of alphas in a the same room together. Mostly it occurs on an unconscious level.

I don't feel intimidated by taller people (men or women). However, I recently I found myself talking to a group guys after a meeting. I thought holy crap I'm the shortest guy here. I'm 6' by the way.

When I was into bodybuilding I could tell people were intimidated by me.

Now that ive lost 40 pounds well, I dont think anyone is intimidated by me

Its not the height IMO, it is how "big" you are as in muscular.
If you are small and muscular, you are not going to be intimidated by the average 6'4 sized guy.

I'm not intimidated by anyone, unless the point a gun in my face. Of course after you've spent some time sparing guys 50+ pounds bigger then you, its hard to be scared anymore, regardless if they can beat you down or not.

definately not large. People never believe me when i tell them how much i weigh because I am so tall. As for the airlines. I always fly either first class or in the emergency aisle because of my legs. Last time i tried flying regular coach my knees were practically next to my ears.

I don't start thinking about it until I sense there's a real risk of ending up in an altercation. But just seeing a big dude on the street or making conversation with one, why the hell would that intimidate anyone?

Same here. I've actually had more problems with shorter guys than tall/muscular ones. A lot of them have the Napoleon complex going on and love to start sh!t to prove themselves the badass.

Though being 5'5" and 140lbs if a fight is totally unavoidable with someone far larger for whatever reason, I'll be fighting dirty. Nuts and knees then run like the devil.

I love the mentality that just because someone is big from lifting or tall that they can fight. At 5'10" 165lbs I'm never the biggest or smallest. Being big doesn't make you good, being good makes you good. Most big guys have been able to rely on being big all their lives, but that won't save them in a fight with someone smaller that actually knows how to fight. People don't fare very well when they're on the receiving end of roundhouse kicks to the legs. Then once they're on the ground everyone is the same height. Kimura = /fight :)
