I have the argument ALL the time... nobody "loves their job"
Given the choice, 99.9% of people woudl rather stay at home than go to work for the day. I don't care what your job is or how it makes you feel.

What's keeping me from leaving is that all the available job listings in my area are just as uninteresting if not worse than what I'm currently doing. That got me thinking, I honestly don't know any people who absolutely love their jobs. So I'm curious, how many of you folks actually like what you do for a living and would be content with working there indifintely?

Funny, I'm writing a book about this. Should be published by early summer :)

False. I very much enjoy my job and I actually look forward to going to work!

Sorry but I have to disagree.

Not everyone lives in a house and commutes to a place of work. :)

And some people go to work to get away from home.

For me that would be called 'vacation'. ;)

My dad had another 3 kids living at the house for a while, and he quite fond of saying that he needed a break from the house on his way to work. 6 kids in the house...

He's a better man than I. :)

There is definitely some truth to that. For me, it's a time to get away from the nagging wife and get some peace and quiet :)

i feel pretty much like the OP.

stuck in a dead end job in a field that i want to get out of. all the jobs available in the area suck.

i want to go back to school but have no idea what i want to do. i really need to set up a time to talk to someone at the local CC.

I'm satisfied and I get decent pay.

The past month or so I am really getting tired of sitting behind a desk all day. I am also getting sick of programming for the same software that I've been doing for 2 years. The pay is decent here, but I could definitely be making more elsewhere. However the environment here is very laid back. I could do nothing all day if I really felt like it, and people aren't jumping down my throat either.

But recently I've been questioning my decision to major in computer science because I'm just getting really sick of sitting on my ass at a desk for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I work outdoors. A computer science major sounds really good to me for that reason. I guess it's hard to be happy with what you have.

I love my job. I make my own hours, do research that will affect humanity, i get to live in a great city, and i work in a pseudo-academic environment. However, the pay is shit, absolute shit. I picked option #2.

I'm really happy with my job (computer programmer). The other IT people I work with are really good and I have a great boss. All in all, it's really hard to complain.
