I actually think it could be translated "thou shall not kill", but contextually it means "thou shall not murder" and this distiniction was not made for many years. I could be wrong.

That's my major problem with the Bible. How do we know which translation is correct? How do we know that, somewhere down the line, it wasn't mistranslated and it should read "Thou shall not kill koalas during Sunday brunch?"

That's my major problem with the Bible. How do we know which translation is correct? How do we know that, somewhere down the line, it wasn't mistranslated and it should read "Thou shall not kill koalas during Sunday brunch?"

this is a problem for me as well, i was raised christian, read the bible....and began to have pancakes on sunday instead of go to church. i must say, pancakes taste better than the crackers at communion...i get more sleep...and my brainwased-paranoia is mostly worn off
