Wasn't he raising some other guy's kid(s)? Alphas don't deal with other men's children.

I don't think the sarcasm in my post came through. Alchy was the poster child for thinking and fronting that he was alpha and then completely failing at his projection.

You know who isn't an alpha? People who talk about being one or, frame their relationships within that context.

When I think of actual "alpha male" I think of someone who is a natural leader, charismatic, attractive, easily stands out and draws other to him (there can be alpha females of similar description too although society doesn't seem to go for that as much)

Those things definitely don't describe me. Nor are they ever going to describe that large a percentage of the population.

The type of person described in this thread sounds like someone who isn't alpha but desperately wants to be and is on some level deeply insecure.

Leaders don't have to be charismatic, attractive nor, stand out until there is a need. While there are plenty who do have those qualities, there are many who pick up the reins and get the job done because they have knowledge, competence and, a willingness to accept responsibility. In general, leaders (I hate the word "alpha") lead because they can NOT, because they necessarily want to.

Some of you are confusing phonies with the real thing. Alphas don't need to talk big, their actions speak for themselves. The big talkers are almost always phony.

He finally get banned?

Long ago.

I'm actually an Alpha in reality even if I joked about it, makes it hard to play with others.

I should have stayed in the Marines and been retired by now.

I'd try to make you feel better about it, but I realize neither of us really cares about that.

How can you be psychologically dominant and submissive at the same time though?

Well, shit. According to Skorpi0's chart, I'm a beta. Only person I listen to at work is my bosses, and I generally only move up when somebody higher than me leaves.

I've been told I have a natural ability to lead and direct people though I don't have the attitude or temperment to truly be a higher up. Maybe I'm a cross between an Alpha and a Beta? I generally don't give a shit about what people think of me, and I'm always telling my bosses "Fire me if you don't like it (what I'm doing)" but they never do.

Almost forgot this Syfy TV series that was cancelled 3 years ago, after 2 seasons (2011-2012).
