Are you allowed to tape down postage stamps

I've done it before. I guess some Postal workers are more anal then others though, might not except it just because they're having a bad day or feel like being a d!ck

did you put tape over the whole stamp? if you did that is why it got returned, or you just had a p!ssed postal worker working your mail.
