Thats why you show up with less money than you offered. Show up with 60, say you only got 60 and ask if he wants the money or not.

I couldn't be that big of a dick, to make the person spend their time to meet somewhere, and to not show up with the money that you offered is being a big asshole.

I'm willing to low ball them on the phone or email, but once they accept and we have a deal, I'm going to show up and give them the money we agreed on, unless whatever I'm buying is not as described or what I thought it was going to be.

I tried to sell a kid's washer/dryer (kenmore branded) thing. All these idiots were asking if it was gas or electric. DUDE, it's in the toys section. It looks like a toy. The descriptive text clearly indicated it was for children. WTF

If you describe something as a "kid's washer/dryer", I don't see any reason to think it's a toy. Most of those people would have found it by searching, and would be unaware of the category it's in.

On craigslist I generally post a fair price and 90% of the time I get my asking price.

One dude tried to pull the "I only have $100 on me" thing when he showed up. I told him give me the amount we agreed on or he doesn't get it. He quickly pulled out that extra $20.

Oh, and yes I lowball people on craigslist all the time. I am in the process of getting the dinovo mini keyboard for $40. Woo hoo!

So now you need an account to post on Craigslist. Ok, I already had that. Now you need to verify that account with a phone number. They send a text to your phone with a code. F that. What next, you need a Paypal account and a verified linked bank account to post on Craigslist?

I'm a Craigslist high price notifier.

I usually just email them a link to the part on Newegg or Amazon for less than what they are selling it for and add an "LOL" after the link.

They usually send a funny reply.

It was probably getting too insane with all the spammers and scammers.

I expected nothing less from a douche like you.

I don't mind making or getting low-ball offers. If you don't like it, just say no thanks. What I don't like is when I meet someone and then they want to try and negotiate the price.

Thats the kind of shit that gets your ass beat. If you agree on a price, stick to it... or does your word not mean anything?

Sold an item recently and the guy showed up $4 short of of an already low price. Guess what? He drove his ass to the cash machine and got more money. There is nothing I post on CL that I need to get rid of bad enough to deal with dbags like that...not even for $4. Thats a pint at the bar ffs.

1. Agree on $50
2. Show up with all $20 bills
3. Ask if he has $10 change.
4. Agree on $40 when he fails to have change.
5. Win.

In all seriousness, this happened to me once. I hit the ATM on the way to meeting the guy and when he didn't have change, I asked if I could give him $10 less since I didn't have exact change. I even said I'd paypal him the difference and he declined. I still felt shmucky though.

I had a guy try that on me. I sold a TV, I think for 50 bucks. He showed up with 3 20's. Asked me if I had change; I did not.
He asked if I'd sell it to him for 40. I told him no, we agreed on 50 and if he wants it, he needs to go to the corner store and get 2 10's, which he did.

i don't lowball much... but i do normally offer 10+% less than what the asking price is.

there's a guy who's selling 3 touchscreen kiosks locally.. they were orginally posted for 500 each a few weeks ago and now posted for 400. I think i'm going to offer him 600 for 2 since it only includes a stand and a 15" LCD touch screen.

I would low ball but I wouldnt show up with less if I ever agreed on a price with somebody. I usually don't use craigslist though, too many scammers and shady people. Atleast thats what my experience has been with it.

If someone lowballed me to begin with, then made me go out of my way to meet and sell to them for a lowball price, then lowballed me AGAIN, I'd tell them to fuck off.

I went balls deep in your mom, so I guess that is considered lowballing.
