In my town, you're going to hear "guys" from every waitress. Unless you are at some high-end joint where they say, "And what may I get for the lady?"

I do not know one woman who was ever offended at the use of "what can I get you guys"... let alone ever commented on it.
 
I think it's obvious, apparently the woman was just being a bitch that day. There was no real reason for her to say anything, much less something mean spirited towards the waitress.
