Why do Clinton supporters keep whining about the popular vote? The rules were to win under the Electoral College and Trump's campaign strategy was aligned to win the EC. Had the rules been different he'd align his strategy differently during the General Election.

Because they'd rather change the rules than change themselves. Changing the rules is easy, changing yourself isn't. As you correctly pointed out they are deluding themselves if they think changing the rules is all they need to do to win. The Democrats had better get it together and learn from their mistakes or they will be doomed to repeat history again if they keep blaming someone else for their failings.

...The rules were to win under the Electoral College...
Which has yet to be won. The Electors are chosen on election day and their vote is undecided till December 19th. The Electors are free agents with anonymous voting power. So, if they don't vote for Trump either by abstaining or switching to democratic party. Trump loses to Clinton or it goes to the house.

To be fair, as close as the race was, they just needed to run a candidate better than Hillary, and she used the last 10 years to ensure she was the only candidate they had.

Electing an incompetent, lazy, egocentric, racist, sexist president who just settled a fraud case?

With a virulently homophobic and anti-choice vice president?

With a white supremacist as a chief strategist?

With an Attorney General who was rejected as a federal judge for racist remarks?

With a national security advisor who was fired from the Defense Intelligence Agency for incompetence?

With a surrogate who wouldn't rule out the possibility of internment camps for Muslims, which any decent human being should always reject?

Also, a friendly reminder: Clinton won the popular vote. Most American voters don't want this.

So in short... you're wrong. I don't see much reason to celebrate when anyone who isn't a white, straight Christian man has reason to worry, and when the President-elect seems more interested in choosing a cabinet based on loyalty than on aptitude.
Add to this his wide business interests that he's not sequestering -- huge conflict of interests the gorilla in the bridal suite. That in tandem with his having his daughter (who's running his businesses) and husband present when he meets his first head of state in person in a meeting closed to media. This is one gigantic face plant that the US has just taken. One can only hope that things get so outrageous before the electoral college convenes for the vote that they gag and reject.

True but that's only one of a number of their failings. Change one variable, and maybe you can win, change as many faults as you can and your odds improve that much more.

Do you think if they ran Bernie Sanders instead of Hillary they may have won? While I can't be certain, I think probably not. Bernie was popular, far more so than Hillary, and he didn't have as many scandals, wasn't as corrupt, but he over promised the moon to voters that weren't blind he had no plan to deliver. Then again Trump did the same. While it would have been a close match, Trump would have had a strategy to defeat the Socialist Entity as well if the need had arisen.

Just in: Trump details plan to sell the United States to joint ownership of China, Russia, Japan, India, and Saudi Arabia.

Hillary "taco bowl" Clinton did not win.... and it was a good thing... her incompetence during her tenure as secretary of state helped leave the middle east a flaming mess, The sexist wench also tried to use her vagina as a selling point. Trump University.... well yeh Trump should have stayed away from that.... but Bill and Hillary made mint from Laureate International Universities... Hillary pimped out the name while Bill made $18 million as "honorary chancellor." Funny how the for profit university then received $91 million in grants from the state department. Fraud investigations as well.

The same source of racism charges indicted for bribery? This asswipe would have been right at home in a Clinton cabinet.
And is this a different Jeff Sessions that took on the Klan in Alabama and helped desegregate schools there?

Really internment camps? And so what you are saying obama was an idiot for appointing Flynn not once... but twice???? And who would the incompetent person be? the DIA head or a president who did not meet with his security advisors while ISIS was ramping up across Iraq and Syria?????

Civics 101. Its called an electoral college. The U.S. is not a democracy dumbshit. The U.S. is a representative republic. And sure most American voters do not want Trump. After 8 years of obama more Americans are in poverty and on food stamps. They have lost value in their homes and have seen their salaries decrease. So more Americans wanted the government gravy train to continue with a little free college thrown in.... color me surprised. And it is a crying shame that Canada has such tough immigration laws... I would like to see a bunch of you head north... but they won't take most of the liberals because they actually require you to not be a burden. So you are stuck in a country that is trying to strengthen their own immigration policy.

So in short... most of the WLP's (whiny liberal pussies) are freaking out because they are afraid of the boogeymen that they themselves created.

Sure on January 21st I am going to wake up and say.. Donald Trump is POTUS... WTF. But then I will go back to sleep knowing the Clintons are nowhere near white house.

Question for the patriots. With someone in the White House who is a racist, molesting, rapacious sexual predator, who speaks favorably of Jeffrey Epstein, is America still the greatest country in the world?

Loaded question, but still, I want to know how the lads who think of America, as being God's gift to the world, view this necrotic debacle.

This mantra that some Americans ascribe to their country has been baseless for a long time. I don't know that you could ever reasonably construct a collection of objective metrics that everyone could agree would help to qualify this statement anyways. What different people value would still be subjective. If the most reasonable metrics are ones that help measure the quality of life for the average citizens of a country, then it would be a few European countries that come out ahead.

I think it's a subjective claim for most people. Unless you live in a third world country lacking freedoms or a decent quality of life, most people probably feel where they live is the best out of a sense of patriotism and a feeling of being at home. Even Herr Trump doesn't think America is the greatest country as he ran on a claim that he would make it great again.

I don't think Sanders would have won, the problem is IMHO, Hillary stacked the deck to the point that no one was willing to take her on. We needed another Obama.

I still think my home city is one of the best in the world, along with most of the surrounding state and region. Pretty much everyone I know here is ashamed of the overall larger country at this point. Easily manipulated and clearly a republic in decline.

He won and I approved his message. How can a Trump supporter not enjoy the lies, the frantic howling and the wealth of tears that his win supply? All this bullshit was out there before his election, he still won. In 2 years there's going to be 12 Democrat Senate seats up for grabs in red states, so there's a good chance the Republicans will take a filibuster proof Senate in 2018 (not that they really need it). You guys need to learn from your mistakes instead of rehashing the same losing bullshit that cost you the election.
Of course when you ask how you are not asking how but saying you wouldn't give it up for the world. You know that decent people don't gloat, everybody knows that, but you are not actually interested in being decent. It is all well and good for you to be whomever you wish, but the moment your uncompromising desires impact somebody else's liberties prepare to be mowed down. The wrath of God if for the unrepentant and you will find that where it is least expected.

I do love all the trolls pointing to the "failure" of the Dems. It's not that. It's the triumph of lies. Welcome to post-truth America.

Disaster? Not yet. It's just disgrace so far. We'll need to wait for the rest of it.

The case looks closed to me short of the delegates denying him in December. It's already clearly a fluster brilliant gentleman.
As you realized today, one more fact forecasting doom is the fact that it took 30 years for the Republicans to vilify Hillary Clinton into a majority win but ac EC loss. But just watch the Democrats do that to Trump. It won't take any time at all because the man is actually already disgusting and all that will be required is pointing fingers. I read something already about how Pence was booed at some public event. Trump doesn't live in a hermetically sealed bottle and the stink is going to leak out everywhere. We are in for a truly offal wild ride. You conservatives cheated Gore with one vote and one Republican FBI guy brought down Clinton and now the screaming apes are on their way. Welcome to your reflection. We create what we fear.

I disagree, Liberals can't keep from denigrating conservatives as stupid rather than seeing them as decent moral people who have dysfunctional moral values. This happened because liberals are decent moral folk who have dysfunctional values. Conservative deny their shame and liberals deny their guilt.

Before the election there were threads here of electoral college number predictions. EVERYONE knew the rules of the race.

It reminds me of little children playing chess and whining "you didn't win! I captured more of your chess peices! All you did was trap ONE of my peices in the corner!"

As to the subject....yes. It's a disaster.

The outcome of this election was a guaranteed disaster. Both candidates sucked.

The losing side simply gets to pretend that the presidency of their sucky candidate would have been better than the sucky candidate that won.

The popular vote is completely irrelevant and none of that other crap is true. How you feel doesn't equal reality. The voters who were contested over picked Trump. Deal with it.
