I feel like video card prices may have FINALLY gotten back down to reality - I see used low profile 4GB RX 550 video cards going for $65 - $90 again on Ebay, just like they were 3.5 years ago. Until 3 or 4 months ago, they were still 50% higher or more.
-I've been tracking current gen used cards on ebay for the last few month, and it looks like sale prices are dropping by ~$100 per month (doesn't help that they started so high three months ago, but now you have 3080's selling in the $400's instead of the $600's) but there appear to be a lot of folks who bought scalped cards that are just not coming to grips with what people seem to be willing to actually pay for them now (which keeps dropping month to month).
A lot of $600 listings are sitting around with 0 bids (while they may have had 10+ bidders three months ago). I'm seeing a lot more sellers trying to resort to "make an offer" situations to try and lift their sale prices.
Some guy was trying to move 7 OEM beat to absolute **** (like had scraches and even some gouges in the fan shroud) 6800XT's, initial asking price was $650. I offered $350 on account of the cards being OEM, obviously mined with, looking like they'd been chewed on by his dogs. Dropped in my whole spiel with ETH going POS, next gen dropping soon, current gen prices dropping further etc.
He counters asking for $599. LOL what?
Sad thing is there does seem to be a population of suckers out there that seems to be paying way more than these cards are worth right now (although not as much as they were three months ago), likely because the prices still look way better than the scalped to hell prices many people got used to over the last 2 years.
