Are there any trees prettier than a white birch tree??

ProfJohn

Lifer
I planted a couple of these this year and they are by far the prettiest trees around.

Other than Japanese maples I don't think any other non-flowering tree can compare.

Anyone disagree or have suggests for other pretty trees?

I may plant a couple more trees next spring and am open to suggestions
My trees are similar although the bark isn't as white

Japanese maple beautiful but very slow growth and it takes years to get to this size.

I also have one of these in the front, supper pretty but again will take 5 years to get this full.

Birches are cool. Another good peely bark tree is a sycamore. My favorite is still oak though. Nice shape, and everything about them is exceptional. From the bark, to the wood, to the acorns, to the strength. It's the tree perfected.

Most of the USA is too far South for Birch to thrive. As a result, many Birch trees don't live all that long. Other than that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As for me, I think Birch trees are very pretty, but many other trees are too. Get too many birch trees together, and they start to look all alike. But get a wide diversity of different trees together and its the contrast that makes each and every tree look better.

I agree oak is the best. My whole yard is covered in them. Lots of shade and squirrels running around which to me is awesome. It does suck stepping on an acorn barefooted though.

My home town.

That's pretty awesome but nothing like owning one. Sometimes I just touch my oak trees in my yard just because it's so fucking awesome owning them. Even have a swing hanging off one. Living the American dream. Woohoo!!

Sorry it's just always been a dream of mine and it happened.

You can have mine too, it got so big it's uprooting our driveway and messing with the foundation of our house.

Plus picking up all of the crap it drops year round is exhausting.

Stop and smell the roses. You're the guy that people drive by and say to themselves 'man I would love to own a house like that someday.'
