Just your Mom's. She wouldn't give my pants back.
I hope you're not more than 20 years old. The mom jokes only work when you're 15.

Baobab Tree

Ya, but the damn things are HUGE! And I don't want something that big in my yard.Birches are cool. Another good peely bark tree is a sycamore. My favorite is still oak though. Nice shape, and everything about them is exceptional. From the bark, to the wood, to the acorns, to the strength. It's the tree perfected.
The two I have now are in the back corner. Most of the USA is too far South for Birch to thrive. As a result, many Birch trees don't live all that long. Other than that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
As for me, I think Birch trees are very pretty, but many other trees are too. Get too many birch trees together, and they start to look all alike. But get a wide diversity of different trees together and its the contrast that makes each and every tree look better.
Willows are nice, but they are another huge tree that takes up TONS of space.willow tree

You need like 30-40 feet of space around them for them to look right when they get big and I don't have that space.
Probably an autumn blaze maple. The Aspen groves are quite pretty with that white bark and brilliant yellow fall color. Also a big fan of Red Maples.
I also love whatever these are. Pics taken last fall on a street a couple blocks from work. They don't really do justice to how brilliant the colors are, especially in good sunlight.

how ironic is it that those trees grow in Africa and not the U.S...

Those are the trees most builders are placing in front yards and along streets etc etc.
Pretty, east to take care and they don't get TOO big like an oak.
Maple syrup comes from maple trees making them the best trees. Plus they have better coloring in the fall and have those cool whirlycopter thingys for seed pods you can throw up in the air. Cleaning up acorns blows. And I like maple trim and cabinets more than oak.
