Higher greed means higher income.. Education is just an enabler.

Maybe Im spending too much time reading P&N but maybe this was a joke? Otherwise I think you most likely are contributing to the statistic that stupidity = lower income. My dad is the least greedy person I have ever met and he earns plenty. He just shows up at 9am and leaves at 5pm to do a job that few people have the mentak capacity to do. In fact, he takes 6 weeks of vacation a year and works negligible overtime to boot. Doesn't sound greedy to me. Sounds like smart+good education = win.

I agree with this here. If you are really smart with a good education then odds are you will have a better chance at knowing how to play your cards right in order to obtain wealth. Tons of people end up going the way of the dodo working ridiculous hours and not seeing all that much in return. At best, those people do end up successful but they continue to work really hard because there is just never enough money to get in their eyes. There are very good ways to make your money work for you without having to spend your entire life chasing wealth.

It kind of makes you wonder why so many people work their asses off their entire life just to get rich. What's the point of all that money if you spend your whole life working to get it?

I graduated in engineering, but honestly wish I would have went into finance.

These numbers also depend on where you live, 50k is a lot of money coming right out of college in South Louisiana as compared to Boston.

Completely agree, same with zoology. I asked an old boss of mine what his mom, who is a zoo master's and he said that that number is not realistic.

As far as finance, I can believe that somewhat.

However, it'd be interesting to see the mean and median on the distribution.

Correlation is not causation.

Education isn't what creates higher income, ambition does that. It just so happens that ambitious people generally end up going to college.

Personally I hate sitting in a classroom. I do better learning through experience and reading on my own. I've had a salary far above average since I was 19, and not having a degree hasn't held me back.
