Are there any other good keyboard shortcuts? Like Windows Key + M or ALT + F4

I like keyboard shortcuts, and over the last 10 years I figure I've learned them all.. but there just might be a few that I don't know and maybe you know. In either case, I'm sure someone will learn something out of this thread

I'll list the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Please limit the shortcuts to MS Windows OS, Web Browser (universal), or programs which come with Windows.

BTW, if you want to see this list formatted nicely. Quote me for a reply, as it will show the spacing properly in there. I don't know why it doesn't do that in the HTML *shrug*

ALT + F4...................Exit Program
Ctrl + F4...................Close a window within a single application
Ctrl + Z....................Undo
F11...........................Web Browser to Full Screen
ALT + Tab.................To switch active programs
Ctrl + Tab.................To switch between active windows within a single application
Windows Key + M......Minimize all programs
Windows Key + D......Minimize to desktop (same as M?) - Thanks Winchester
Windows Key + E.......Windows Explorer shortcut - Thanks Winchester
Windows Key + R ......Run command box
Windows Key + L.......Lock your Computer
Shift + F10................Right Click
Ctrl + Alt + Del..........Duhhhh
Ctrl + Shift + Esc.......Task Manager
Backspace.................While in web browser to go Back
Alt + Enter.................Windows Media Player Full Screen
Ctrl + A.....................Select All
Ctrl + C.....................Copy
Ctrl + V.....................Paste
Ctrl + X.....................Cut
Ctrl + O.....................Open
Ctrl + N.....................New (document, window, etc)
Ctrl + F......................Find
Ctrl + T.....................New Tab (IE7, Firefox)
Ctrl + P.....................Print
Ctrl + End..................Go to end of line (in most text boxes/notepad like apps)
Ctrl + Home...............Go to beginning of line (same as above)
F1..............................Help
Ctrl+enter................. adds the "http://www.______.com/"
Alt+shift+enter.......... adds the "http://www.______.net/"
Ctrl+shift+enter........ adds the "http://www.______.org/"
---the above 3 add the part in quotes to any word you want (where the ___ would be).. for use in the address bar of web browser - Thanks yankeesfan for the .net and org shortcuts. I only knew about the .com one :)

I'm sure there are plenty more I know that I can't think of right now. So, come one, come all, share your shortcuts with us.

F6 within a browser will go to the address bar and highlight it.

CTRL + W = Close Tabs and even some programs

Are you sure it's not just End and Home (i.e., no Ctrl). Ctrl + End goes to the very end of the document (not just the line), and Ctrl + Home goes to the very beginning.

Ctrl + Y = Redo

Alt + Print Screen = Image capture of active window only

Shift + Tab = Reverse tabbing (tab back to previous selection)

Have a bookmark somewhere of them all, but i'll add a couple:
Win+Break = System properties
Ctrl+Left/Right - move cursor one word (hold shift to select)
Shift+Del = delete file permenantly (skip recycle bin)

Win+D does not do the same as Win+M, as Win+D will take you to the desktop, then you can press it again and it will restore all programs back to how they were (if you dont do anything).

in terms of text manipulation:

ctrl + right/left arrow = moves cursor word by word
ctrl + up/down arrow = moves cursor paragraph by paragraph
shift + right/left arrow = selects text character by character
shift + ctrl + right/left = selects text word by word
shift + ctrl + up/down = selects text paragraph by paragraph
shift + home = selects text from cursor to beginning of line
shift + end = selects text from cursor to end of line
shift + ctrl + home = selects text from cursor to beginning of document
shift + ctrl + end = selects text from cursor to end of document

*edit* oh, and i can't forget

ctrl + A = select all

In any decent browser, FF and Opera for example (so just exclude ie6) Ctrl + D will add a bookmark. I use it all the time.

One of the most useful threads yet. Should be stickied. I just used IE8's F7 (caret browsing/copy) to consolidate essentials in Notepad. I teach seniors, and this is a great handout for those who have trouble using a mouse due to post-stroke conditions etc.

Most of these are Windows 7 specific.

TASKBAR
WIN + T
Give taskbar keyboard focus.

WIN + #
Switch to application, placement in taskbar determines number. Will switch if no instance of the application is open.

ALT + WIN + #
Open jumplist of respective application.

CTRL + WIN + #
Switch between multiple instances of respective application.

SHFT + WIN + #
Open new instance of respective application.

EXPLORER
CTRL + N
Duplicate current window (or IE8 tab) into a new window.

CTRL + SHFT + N
Create new folder.

WINDOW MANAGEMENT
WIN + Space
Peek at desktop.

WIN + Tab
Nevermind. I mean, why bother? This feature is fuckin' useless...

WIN + Left/Right
Snap current window to left/right edge of screen.

WIN + Up
Maximize current window

WIN + Down
Restore window if maximized, minimize otherwise.

SHFT + WIN + [Directional Arrow]
Move application to another physical display.

WIN + Home
Minimize out-of-focus applications, use again to restore.

OTHER
WIN + -/=
Zoom in or out using built-in magnification tool.

WIN + G
Bring gadgets to focus.
