So, they question is, is Truth always a real truth?

Let's say, for instance, your truth is based on science? Have you ever taken in to account that Humans, by nature, are fallible?

They used to think that Smoking was A-OK! Doctors even smoked. Or the fact they used to supply Coke, Arsenic, Heroin, and such as being safe and as a medication?

Facts have a funny way of changing over the years, as does the truth. It is ever evolving as we evolve.

Who are we to decide whos "truth" is real? Why can't everyone have their own truth and just move on with your life without judging them automatically?

Let's take your smoking thing as an example then. Yup we were wrong about the health ramifications of smoking. But the only way that this to be analogous to us being wrong about the existence of God would be if cigarettes had never been seen before, there was no evidence whatsoever of tobaccos existence and there was no physical mechanism whereby chemicals could harm a human. And even then its less of a stretch than saying God exists.

And again, I'm not judging anyone, I'm just saying that there is no possible way that God exists.

Theres nothing wrong with going "yeah, thats not a thing" when people say something bizarre, especially when they are making big decisions based on it.

I think that there is certainly a chance that there is intelligent life somewhere else in the universe (or has been, or will be).
I mean its already happened here so its been proven to be possible.

Not sure why you have an issue with two words that have different meanings. That's not the problem of the term agnostic vs atheist, that's a personal problem.

What has already happened here? How can you "prove" something to be a "possibility"? The flip side to that, why don't you consider centuries of written scriptures and other evidence as a possibility of their being a God or something higher than us? I mean, let's not limit it to Christians, it's many religions. You dismiss all of that as fake, but you think they have "proven" the "possibility" (completely contradictory words) that their is intelligent life on another planet?

Oh, and FYI, my original response was never directed towards your comments or anything. I'm not sure why you jumped in, but I do like a good debate! That said, they were at the person actually saying they judge people in other settings if they participate in church. Just so we are clear and no hard feelings.

Well we have evidence that intelligent life can exist. It exists here, so there's no massive bar to it existing elsewhere.
There is no evidence that any god have ever existed, in fact all our understanding of the universe would say that they can't.

The whole intelligent life thing goes either way. Both camps can claim in proves their theory. I was kind of hopping you went the <insert southern state or Area 51> butt probing thing for a good giggle. Don't let me down, next time.
 
The only thing that is "God" would be the most basic thing that all other things are made from. String Theory is the closest we have come to this thing, in concept. As a "God" though, it is quite lacking, being too simple to be anything on an Individual level. Perhaps though, like our Brains, Complexity of Structure allows it to gain Consciousness and even Intelligence. Like how we don't identify with Individual Body Cells or Brain Synapses, this "God" would never Identify with the Strings that make Its' existence possible. In essence "God" could never be the type of "God" we have culturally developed, because It is as Contingent on Strings the same way we are Contingent on Cells, although ultimately we too are Contingent on Strings.

It is not an assumption but the reality of the people I have dealt with in life. Experience taught me to never trust anyone that wears their religion on their sleeve. The businessman that wears a huge cross (3" or so) over their tie in a business suit. He is hiding behind his religion.

I briefly worked with a guy that was a lay preacher, as dishonest as they come in business and personal interactions. He lied at the level of Trump. He was fired after I went to management when he told an outrageous lie to one of our better customers. He bragged about not reporting his preaching income on his taxes. When traveling he bragged about peeping into rooms in the hotel/motel he as staying in. The manager that didn't want to sign a contract for our services, but wanted to shake hands and pray on it. What he really meant was prey.

Note, I am NOT talking about the vast majority of believers or simple church goers, but those that present themselves as being so... for they are not.

If you want to call it bigotry, go for it, but it is a self-defense reaction. The same reaction you would develop if every time you came near a specific breed of dog and it tried to bite you. Before long you would be a bigot regarding that breed.

Usually when one doubts that a quote is accurate, they do their own research, and either learn it is accurate, or throw it back in the others face as false, with citations showing them to be inaccurate.... usually

I wasn't suggesting that the presence of life elsewhere has any bearing on the existence of God, I'm just saying that life exists here, there's no reason that it won't exist elsewhere.

What if butt probing is just how aliens say hello! 😳
