LOL, we were just joking about this the other day.

"In China, do they go out for American?"

lol...

umm they do? i don't see why this is funny.

in Korea, Japan and China there are many many American francises like TGIF, Chili's and Pizza Hut. And avg college kids like us go there all the time.

And obviously all of the fast food chains are present (McD, BK, Wendy's). I grew up in Korea.. I remember craving BK but also loved Lotteria (a Korean fastfood... better food because they have local adaptations like Bulgogi/Teriyaki burger).

What exactly is American Food anyway?

Burgers -> German, Pizza -> Italian, Beer -> Somewhere else

maybe highly processed chemicals and high fructose corn syrup = American?

IRC, pizza was invented in America, just made better in Italy.

American pizza and Italian pizza are almost 2 different things. I think American is better however.

No its actually very much the same.

Not all you can eat. BTW, I pretty much lived off McDonalds and KFC in Beijing. Food there sucks, Peking duck included. Shanghai was another story.

So does the food at McDonald's (Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, etc) taste the same as the US? I'd be afraid of everything being cooked in Fish oil.

The marketing guys of these mega corps are smart. They don't blindly serve the same stuff found in US. They do local adaptations.

I had McD in Korea 10 yrs ago. They had a Bulgogi burger (Korean BBQ dish). Mmmmm..

I was in Amsterdam just a year ago. They had a whole slew of croquettes. Yum! (I know they're actually from France).

yes they do, but usually it is part of the 'international section' next to any other ethnic food. There is Sizzler in Taiwan, which was doing well around 10 years ago close to where I use to live. It got replaced by Fridays 😕

No, it's really not. Unless you think NY style and Chicago style are also the same.

I dare to say any 4 to 5-stars hotel buffet in HongKong can match (if not pown) the quality in Las Vegas. Granted, they aren't cheap. Yes, I have tried a few in Hongkong, and Bellagio, Paris and others too.

Yea, when I was in New Zealand McDonald's there had a "kiwi burger." It was basically a quarter pounder with an egg and a slice of beet on it.

This confirms that OP needs to GTFO of US and open his eyes for once.
