Are there American buffets in China/Asia?

LOL, we were just joking about this the other day.

"In China, do they go out for American?"

lol...

What exactly is American Food anyway?

Burgers -> German, Pizza -> Italian, Beer -> Somewhere else

maybe highly processed chemicals and high fructose corn syrup = American?

IRC, pizza was invented in America, just made better in Italy.

Uh, no, you fail, you fail miserably.....

I don't think there are enough foods that are uniquely "American" for a buffet. We just eat other people's stuff.

American pizza and Italian pizza are almost 2 different things. I think American is better however.

For all the people questioning what an "American Buffet" would be, did you not see Her209's link?

Ponderosa, Old Country Buffet, Ryans, Fire Mountain, heck I'm sure there are a ton more.

dethman - I did see a Ponderosa in Abu Dhabi (which is technically in Asia).

Not all you can eat. BTW, I pretty much lived off McDonalds and KFC in Beijing. Food there sucks, Peking duck included. Shanghai was another story.

So does the food at McDonald's (Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, etc) taste the same as the US? I'd be afraid of everything being cooked in Fish oil.

American pizza >>>>>> Italian pizza
Not to mention the breadth and depth of various pizza styles we have.

And BBQ, we OWN BBQ.

I dunno, when I think of American buffet I picture that majority of foods you'd find in a Las Vegas buffet. Ribs, steaks, chicken, mmm....

There's a place in Torrance I drive by weekly, and I'm always tempted to stop in and see what exactly

China Buffet
NY Style

means. Is there a NY buffet? Or a NY version of Chinese food?
<-Never been to NYC, so it may be commonplace there
