I'm 5'10", and have dated women taller and shorter than me.

Maybe my viewpoint is different because I'm solidly in the average range, but it seems to me that personality is more important than height to women.

That said, I don't agree with the generalizations in the article. A lot of short guys that I know have a small man complex, or act like George Costanza.

You shouldn't. I know a few of these "quickies" that look EXTRA stalky cause they are so bulky. I'm actually pretty slim so I don't look stalky, just short. Oh, and the face of a 15 year old helps a bit too. The really muscular short people I know look like they've been taking steroids for half their lives. Then again, maybe they have... I've never asked;).

And the "small man complex". The short people who don't SEEM to have it are probably overcompensating some other way (i.e. very fake or too enthusiastic personality, lots of muscles or just hiding it). Kinda hard to not feel "inadequate" when you have discussions like this, the media and society as a whole telling you day and night that you're "special". ~I get f*cked by this everytime I go clothes shopping. "Oh, I like that shirt. Woops, it's designed for 'real' men, so even the small is too damn long and wide. Oh well, I'll get it anyways and wear it like a dress." Even WORSE is when I went to a "Short Man's Store". You have no idea how demeaning it feels to go in, and have a salesmen tell you "Everything in this store is for you. It's all made for you and people like you." The worst part is when I looked at the cost of a simple polo: $130. No effing way, it may have been a fancy shirt, Hugo Boss or whatever, but I can get one very similar at H&M for $25. I hauled as* out of there...

Lol....that all depends how they add the weight. I've been working out pretty steady for almost a year now and put on 15lbs or so of muscle. It does help fill out clothes better, though finding pants that fit right without being altered is still a PITA.

That depends on your body type for the most part. Short guys don't necessarily add on weight easier.

Ha, ya. I have to get every pair of pants altered. Don't have a sewing machine, and too cheap to bring it to an alterer, so I really miss the orange thread-line on the bottom of jeans. My inseam is 28", which places never stock, so all I look at is waist size.

those women are not with those guys because they are short. they with them because they rich and famous! Women do not go after short guys! TRUST ME!~

There is some truth to that from my conversations with various women. Many of them refuse to consider guys who are shorter then them.

Even though I'm 5'5" I'll never have this problem since my interests lie elsewhere.:p

My dad told me that in 'nam, the tall "Americans" always ate it first because when they crouched, they could still be seen.

Wow, that's pain. God bless you for having the guts to say it.

Remember, a quick headbutt to the face corrects attitudes mighty quick. :)

basically all the examples of the short men with tall women in that article are now divorced you know.
i think its more the short men need to compensate and if they are wealthy and powerful enough will pursuit a tall woman. the tall woman wants a tall man but settles if she can get a man that is rich/famous/powerful enough i guess.
course it doesn't seem to last...

Wasnt there a woman on Seinfeld once that was extremely attracted to George because he was a short, stocky, bald man?

strange. I am 6"7 and I've always dated shorter women. The tallest i ever dated was 5"6'. The shortest i ever dated was 4"10 (that was a little to short for my taste). but tall woman always saying that want a tall guy but usually it is always the short women who went after me.

Out of curiosity, how does one your height smooch a girl that's say.. 5'3"-ish? Most of my girlfriends have been fairly tall (around 5'7" or so), but I was curious about how awkward it would be if I tried to smooch some 5'0"-ish girl while standing rather than sitting or something.

you have to bend really far over or in the case of the 4"10 one I would actually almost be on one knee to kiss her, most of the time i would just pick her up instead (it was alot easier). Plus if she ever pissed me off i could easily throw her 30 yards with a good spiral to her as well.

They don't build it quicker, they just don't have to add as much to achieve a given look.

Tall guys have to add more because they have more space to fill.

The speed with which you can build muscle is determined by lots of genetic factors that go way beyond height.

I think that was Marisa Tomei. There was also an episode where George wanted to sleep with a really tall woman.
