are scallops the best food ever?

Oh how the taste buds can differ.

One of the most disgusting foods according to my taste buds on the planet.

I like shrimp over scallops. The tender, juicy, kinda rubbery kind. If prepared right, shrimp > all other seafood.

nowai. love some shrimp though, for sure, if someone can keep from overcooking them.

You couldn't be more wrong.

deep fried softshell crab
alaskan king crab legs
sea scallops
raw oysters (if you know what you're eating)
lobster (steamed, not boiled)

I love scallops, but find them to be one of the more difficult seafoods to prepare well. When ordering them at restaurants, more than half the time I see to end up with overcooked little rubbery balls. One of the local chinese restaurants does an outstanding job preparing them. And I love to wrap them with half cooked bacon & quickly cook them in the broiler.

I went to Joe's Crab Shack, using the free steam pots coupon, got the "classic" steam pot. First time I have had Dungeness - DAMN that was good crab!

My wife on the other hand, LOVES the nasty things.
