Seriously though, that was not an @$$holish e-mail. It was a warning for having something on their system in violation of their security policy. I think you took it a little too personally.

He is doing his job, but the threat against my account was unneeded, and I don't CARE that he deals with idiots all day long. That's his damn job, to look after the system. Now if he can't do that with a minimum of civility, then we have an issue.

If he didn't mention the consequences how many people do you think would go "I don't even know what he's talking about....delete *ignore*" He's just telling you its important and you need to take action on it.
