i dont consider these palestinians to be heroes, but you can't call taking shelter as being an act of cowardice. it would be incredibly stupid of them just to come running out against tanks or whatever else israel has there.

now i'm not sure why arafat has told them no negotiations. didn't they just negotiate the release?/arrest of a couple hundred palestinian police about a week ago. >>

#2 The Texans never called for the killing of all Mexicans.
#3 The Texans never took refuge in an active holy site using clergy as human shields
#4 The Texans never claimed religious teachings as their means for independence

Of course not. I have never threatened anyone here PM or not with physical harm.

I've seen MANY people here do it in a thread in the heat of the moment ie. "if you were here I'd kick your ass" but never me.

I don't dispute any of that. I never said they had they same reasons or used the same methods. I'm also don't see them being sympathetic where as the Texans were Heroic. But in the eyes of their fellow Palestineans they are everything the Texans are to us.

In this case it is an act of cowardice. They are hiding out in one of christianity's holiest sites know that the Israeli can't attack it. To destroy it would piss off a lot of people. Also read up on what is considered a 'war crime'. Destruction of historical/religious sites is included.

I would certainly agree with that. It doesn't make me any more sympathetic to the Palestinian's cause though. Nor to the Israeli's. Not being there and not having to live through what they do, I think it would be very hypocritical of me to pick a side.
