I know that i have beaten the carp out of my macbook. I am a bit of a jerk to my electronics not very delicate at all. I remember one time I was writing up something for a class, but we had to use this one forum to type on. That site wasn't very firefox friendly, so when I went to open a new tab on the site, it opened up in that window. I hit back, and all the stuff i had typed over the last 20 minutes was gone (you could save, but then only could open the save once, never re-save it, and if you didnt post it on that second opening, you lost the post).
I slammed the lif shut on my macbook, and then swung my hand upwards, catching the edge of the laptop. It flew a couple of feet into the air, and landing back on the table battery side up... hard. I opened up the machine, and after about 5-10 seconds (instead of the usual 0 seconds) OS X came back and everything was fine. I have had no problems whatsoever with it (hardware wise, a couple of times i would have 3rd party software screw stuff up)
