Wow, apple, welcome to 2 years ago.

I'm not very concerned about the absolute pixel count per se. More important is actually the picture quality.

However, I actually somewhat prefer lower pixel counts if the sensor size is good. It's easy for the camera to be fast with lower pixel counts, and it saves storage.

Yay for more LTE bands. I wanna test that out with my T-Mobile here in So Cal. So many stupid dead spots.

I can sort of see the appeal of that, for people who can't afford the up-front costs of a phone and/or have a SIM-only deal that would still work out cheaper than a full contract and new iPhone deal.

Granted though, this is obviously just to fleece people who buy a new iPhone every year.

Those pricing slides are pretty cowardly. I guess that they don't want to admit that the unlocked 64 GB models still cost around $750 quite yet.

Do you get to keep the phone? Right now, you can pay that much and own it out right after two years, sell it and then put the money down on a new one.

I completely forget about that factor. I don't sell my old phones so the resale is moot for me but I do like to keep a backup phone.

Don't get that dopes sauce AppleCare coverage though.

So far the most exciting thing for me for this event is the new iCloud pricing. I knew the change in pricing would eventually come, but this seems reasonable, at least for Apple:

Free: 5 GB
$0.99: 50 GB
$2.99: 200 GB
$9.99: 1 TB

16GB capacity yet they record 4K video? Really hope that A9 has a built in HVEC coder/decoder. 4K h.264 files are huge.

I would assume you do if you decide you want to keep it. Apple is banking on most people trading them back in. They'll likely resell those devices on the refurbished store. You're still paying the full $768 in the end, just spread out. At least they're unlocked, unlike the carrier models.

It was really cheeky what they did with the carrier pricing. Almost thought they were doing to announce a price drop the way he was talking.
