This is all part of the plan to kill high end Android phones.
7.1 was a fantastic update.iOS 7 did not play well with iPad Air when it was released. They had a serious issue with Safari crashing. Took a few updates to get that straight.
Apple's beta testing often just isn't up to par.
The Bloomberg article that is linked suggests that the team that does the testing for patches doesn't get access to the newest iPhone until the time that customers get it. Ah, Apple's secrecy, biting itself in the ass yet again.
It still stands true.
iOS 8: Crashing brand new phones
iOS 7: Fantastic update
iOS 6: Two words: Apple Maps
iOS 5: Nothing really eventful here
iOS 4: Broke my 3G
Before I get too snarky over Apple's missteps, I'm reel it back because I know Google -not to be outdone- will likely manage to toss their own flaming monkey wrench into some aspect of Android. Sooner or later.
They're quite capable of screwing up Android phones without any outside help.
8.0.2 is out that fixed it.
7.1 was a fantastic update.

No case I assume? First time I held an iPhone 6, I knew 100% we were getting a case for my wife's phone. Even the 4.7" is a touch slippery and I knew over time it's going to hit the ground.
