I just bought a nice glass jug of apple cider, all natural, etc, etc, the only ingredients at the back are freshly pressed apples. I always thought apple juice had a lot of vitamin C, I guess I was wrong. I looked at the back and it has 0 %.

WTF?

You bought some fail apple juice then, because the stuff that I buy has 100% DV of Vitamin C per serving.

Apple juice with citrus added to prevent browning. Fresh apple juice/cider is brown due to the oxidation.

Yeah, and I bet one of the ingredients is ascorbic acid. 😉

Vitamin C is heat sensitive. It doesn't survive pasteurization, which is necessary for any on the shelf product.

If you juiced an apple, it would contain some vitamin C.

Fun fact: Oranges don't actually contain very much vitamin C. Chalk 1 up to marketing..

Want vitamin C? Eat a guava.

Mmm yes, you are right. I read the bottle again and it says "pasturized". That apple juice is pure fail then, 120 calories per serving, mad sugar, and nothing of real nutritional value, I'm going to drink beer instead.

Yea, apple juice has very little nutritional value.

Although, if I was already drinking something sugary on a regular basis like soda, apple juice would be a decent alternative.
