lol someone on these very forums praised him for $1 dollar salary recently in a thread about CEO salaries. yeah douche bag took a $1 dollar salary so he could escape certain taxes by getting his money through capital gains.

being an asshole and being a genius/visionary are NOT mutually exclusive. In fact, they often go hand in hand. Like it or not, he changed computing forever, for most people for the better. For that .01% of dinosaurs that are too old or stubborn to change, well good riddance. You'll be just like those who tried to cling on to CLI.

I also love how the hate is so ingrained into some of you that you actually are glad another human being died. I mean really? Is this real life? How fucking pathetic do you have to be to do something like that? Actually, I know the answer to that question. Enjoy being miserable people, and just realize that when you die, nobody will care to even talk shit about you. You'll just fade into oblivion without so much as a blip on the radar.

I never said i hate him, he actually did have some great ideas and innovations. That doesnt change the fact that he was a asshole though and definatly not worthy of the god status the fanboi's give him.

Sounds like you don't know any high level execs. I work with them every day (fortune 100 execs), and I assure you most of them still have BB's. I don't like the BB's, but like it or not they are still the top choice for corporate use and tying into the corporate mail network and such.

With android and IOS making strides in the security department and starting to dominate the retail market, I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they completely take over the corporate market, but that hasn't happened yet.

im not glad he died, and while i dont care for apple or most of their products, i can appreciate some of the advances jobs pushed.

however, i really, really hate the celebrity death craze here in the US, and im already tired of hearing about this one.

Read any of the unauthorized biographies. The thing that REALLY grinded my gears about him, was that he had a daughter he disowned from birth basically, it took him a very long time to admit she existed and give her or her mother any support.

He was a massive egotist as well. Maybe that changed in his older years, but my opinion was already formed by then.
 
you do not get ahead in business by being a nice guy. It does not work that way. You have to cruel and calculating at times and it also means you have set those who do share the same view as you straight. Being a leader involves having the people around you that share the same vision. If you do not share the same vision and you look at being put back down to earth by a visionary as a douche move, then why are you even working for him?

--various (unconfirmed, as far as I know) dickhole moves regarding his employees.


--and, I don't want to violate HIPPA or anything, but I do have second-hand knowledge regarding his behavior/personality while being treated at Stanford cancer center. That is all I will say about that, but basically: he was a supreme fuckhead.
