I dunno, I was a bit distracted by her tits and didn't really pay any attention to the commercial...
That's one way to lure customers.

She should be on MILF hunters, not laptop hunters.

link to ad?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm a tool.... LOL.... need coffee...

Apple's legal dept complaining about the claimed price in MS commercial versus the actual price after the price drop seems a bit petty. If it were a huge difference, yeah, I could see them taking issue with MS making false claims. What both companies really need to do is just play to their strengths and develop better products. No one wants to see the bickering take on a political or legal face.

AAPL started it.

A $1600 HP will be a lot faster than whatever Apple is offering for $1600, which is the whole point of the commercial.

Sigh, you don't get the choice of a mac or pc, totally free, no matter the cost.

ARE YOU GUYS FUCKING STUPID?

lol

I don't see the big deal here. Sounds like MSFT has an ad where they either state or imply that you can't get an apple laptop for under $1,000 and now that apple does have a laptop for under $1,000 they don't want that ad to run anymore.

actually, the first commercial i saw for that was 1500 bucks for a gaming puter. another was for 1000 and now this one for 700. id say they are asking people what their budget is, telling them to go find what they want in that range. the guy said they are unscripted commercials, hope thats true.

and i think olivia is smokin, but lauren is pretty sexy too. if she was wearing a tight tank top she may get more votes, despite being a ginger.

isn't that what I just said?

Not at all, and you fucked up what I said with your editing. They are all pc's. Preference simply lies in what OS you want.

Usually you don't say things this dumb, so I'll take this to be an oddball exception. There are many very well put together PC notebooks and many others that are quite light. Also, at least form my understanding, Apple notebooks aren't the best when it comes to battery life.

To prefer a Mac is one thing; speaking nonsense is another.

Agree completely, there are some very sturdy PCs with excellent battery life out there. To argue that Apple has some secret tech that makes theirs more battery efficient/sturdy is retarded.

err.. but they do. and it's not even a secret. just google it.

In the "Lauren" ad she did say that there was one Macbook available for under $1000, but it had a 13" screen. She wanted a 17" screen. Apple still only has on laptop under $1000. They lowered the prices on their other laptops, but they're all still above the price level of these laptop hunter ads, so I'm not sure why they would call MS and tell them that their ads are wrong.

This would only be applicable if the $13,150 Kia was every bit as good or superior to the Toyota or Honda anyway.

No one ever looks past the hardware when comparing Macs and PCs, which is stupid because the main difference is the software. I think most Mac users don't use Macs because of the hardware, they use Macs because they like the OS. That's why you see people building Hackintoshes, and not many people buying Macbooks and only running Windows on them. Obviously people value the OS enough to buy the more expensive hardware that is required to run it.

Anecdote alert: Anyone I personally know who owns a Mac bought a Mac because it was something 'cool' to buy.... not because of hardware or software. And I have no problem with that. It is actually a subtle part of Apple's marketing so at least it's working. Why else would some jackass put an apple sticker on their car other than to give off some type of 'image'.

I'd be amazed if apple really called Microsoft, especially to quibble about a point like that. Imagine if Microsoft called apple about every inaccuracy in their "i'm a mac/i'm a pc" commercials.

I hate both ad campaigns and can't wait till they're both off the air.

no they don't, the battery on my macbook died after a year from about 100 hours of usage total (not that it's totally useless, you see, i did used it for about 100 hours before the novelty worn off). The battery on my dell 8300, a 5 year old 15incher wide screen, lived for at least twice as long that with regular usage. apple can suck on that.

this must be nonsense since I've used my macbook well over 100 hours in teh past 6 months

I mean shit, 100 hours in 30 days seems more likely.

EXACTLY! I can understand if people want to buy a Mac for a legit reason, but the idiots think they are taking part in some kind of superior lifestyle evidenced by the fact that they put those moronic stickers on their car and various other items. Apple has marketed their stuff as a lifestyle, not as a tool, and that is what annoys me so much about it. I don't care at all what people prefer but it's the holier-than-thou attitude that grinds my gears. That goes for both sides, but I'm sure I don't need to point out that 90% of my experience with that ridiculous attitude is Mac users.

I don't know, why do people put Ron Jon stickers on their car? Why do people put OBX stickers on their car? Why do people put stickers of stick figures representing their family on their car? Do people take up surfing because they want to put a Ron Jon sticker on their car? No.

People put Apple stickers on their car because they like the company and they like its products. Go read an Apple forum, I'm sure you'll find people talking about the products, not talking about how cool they look when they're using them. I'm sorry you associate with such shallow people, but I don't think they are a representative sample of the population of Apple customers.

If I had to guess, I'd say you probably misinterpreted what they meant by "cool." They probably meant the products are cool, as in they do "cool" things; you assumed they meant they look cool by association.

It's hilarious that you use the word 'lifestyle'. One of my friends told another who was considering a Mac, "It's a computer... not a lifestyle decision." So true.
