It does looks good in the ads. Unfortunately it has the stamp of Mel on it and he is a completely bat-sh!t crazy nazi. I can't let him have any of my money. I'll have to boycott this one.

Buy a ticket for something else and go see the movie instead

hahaha ya

Who cares if Mel has some of your money. Do you really think your ticket price is going to make him noticeably richer? The guy is worth millions anyway :p

See Casino Royale, it's awesome.

I think Apocalypto looks great too, going to see it tomorrow.

Damn straight. Scorsese is in a class with the greatest of them all... Kubrick, Frankenheimer, Coppola, etc. Spielberg has entertained me but not nearly as much as those greats. IMHO.

I wouldn't watch it unless he gave me and other Jews a million dollars. that fvcked up ass should die that anti semitic bastard. no one really knows or can put in your mind what really happened to the Jews during the holocaust even if you watch the movies. so he can go live on the street and rot in hell. thanks and come again :)

Martin Luther King was a serial adulterer and womanizer. Does that make his actions/accomplishments in civil rights any less genuine?

BTW, I thought Passion of the Christ was great and I'll probably go see this film when it comes to the $1.50 theater.

I think Gibson is talented. Heck, some heads of the Jewish community forgave him when he made his apology statement. Why can't some of you?

Because I don't make decisions based on political motivations, like some heads of the Jewish community do.

Nopes. You only make decisions based on what movie critics say.

I do not care what his personal opinion on Jews, whites, blacks, Spanish, tacos, disabled, gays etc is. NONE of that matters because at the end of the day he is a actor and producer and nothing that is going to impact my life or my family. what really matters is if he puts out a good movie. I enjoyed brave heart (own it), i enjoyed The passion (own that also) never seen the other one he made.

But i plan on seeing this. was going to wait until it was on DVD. but it is getting enough good reviews from people i know i might go see it in the Theater.

Totally agree. Critics can go fvck themselves.

I see so often that X movie got horrible critics reviews.. Say a D+ average.. and then the user reviews are like A-. Usually if the critics reviews are lower than the user reviews, the movie is good. Though, if the critics reviews are really high, and the user reviews are lower, it usually means a bad movie. Critics judge too much based on politics.. they judge based on 'something new' in that anything they've seen before (in their career that involves watching movies all day every day) gets much lower reviews than it should.

So if he gave you a million dollars you'd be okay? Like.. you'd compromise your morals for money?

You're living up to the stereotype..

Most likely, you weren't around during the holocaust so whatever did happen did not happen to you.

Great movie... Good balance between the first half which was the "story telling" part and the second half which was all action and gore.

Thumbs up mel!

while i agree with the first part i disagree that the holocaust did not happen to him. If he is Jewish (sorry not reading to see if you said it) and he lost family then yes it did "happen" to him. it was within imidiate family time.

But i agree he is just living up to the sterotype

I am Jewish, and I like Mel Gibson's movies. I mean he knows how to make good epics, there is no getting around it. Braveheart is still one of my favorite movies.
We all have demons to deal with, and sometimes we fail. None of us are perfect. We do bad things, we do good things. We deserve credit for the good as much as we deserve criticism for the bad. Would I want to hang out with Mel Gibson when he's drinking, no. But watch his movies, yes. Well, except for the Passion maybe, that one was kind of boring.

Without giving away any spoilers, do you all think that Mel is drawing any parallels to the fall of the Mayan civilazation and our own through this film?

I gotta ask ...

Is the movie subtitled and in a foreign language? I couldn't tell from the preview cause no one spoke.
