<< I'll go testify for MS.. Netscape sucks. There is no competition.

Didn't AOL come bundled with IE at one time? Maybe it still does? AOL should sue themselves.

AOL is diving into a Blackhole by suing Microsoft. They should just make better products.

What AOL does needs to learn is that they can buy what ever company they want, but that does not mean they own the people that work there. The talented people that worked at Netscape jumped ship when they got bought out..there was no point for them to stay. Do you think they actually wanted their email address to be myname@AOL.com, thjat is pretty scarry, and i would be ashamed.

Always Off Line (AOL) + Nutscrape ?? = Total worthless software!!

Free enterprise comes to mind, and AOL is just whining!! " I want as much money as they have.. "

Loosers.... AOL can go cry to someone who cares! I sure don't !!

Oh my god.... again? Those whining Netscape babies need to drop the case. After all.... Netscape doesn't even support it's own browser.

AOL needs to fail and become a faded memory.. just like Nutscrape is.

<< if a judge rules in favor of AOL, would be to force Microsoft to sell a stripped-down version of its Windows operating system so computer manufacturers could choose which Internet browser to offer. >>

Yeah like anyone would chooses Nutscrape over IE. All that's going to do is cost the consumer more.

How? Because they have a choice of browsers to use? Because the choices they have would be on the same level? Because ie does not need to be on Windows "server"?

Next thing you know, Symantec's going to sue McAfee for bundling a firewall in with their anti-virus scanner.... :|
Since when is it a crime to promote one's own product, as a bundle with another of one's own product. Who cares if MS put IE into Windows.. oes everyone who uses Windows REALLY want to hafta FTP into MS/Opera/Mozilla/whatever to pick up a browser, just so they can load it up, and find that they hafta upgrade the bloody damn thing anyways!!

<---Quite sick of lawyers, people who bash companies cuz they make money, and general whiners.

I guess you don't remember the days when Netscape charged for their browser. They had to start giving it away because that's what MS did with IE.

Well it's as obvious as that Penguin in your pocket but if I need to spell it out for you I will. If Windows was stripped of a Browser people would have to buy it. When you purchase something Linus, it costs money. AOL is just trying to capitalize of the past lawsuits because they now own Nutscrape (and are in negotiations to ruin..errr aquire Red Hat)

Yes, I do. Barely, but I do. I do not think shipping ie with Windows is a bad thing. I do think that integrating the damn thing into the OS was a bad move. I also think that taking away some artificial limits and calling your desktop OS a server OS is BS.

Pengiun? Damn, I dont like Linux much. Only slightly more than Windows, Bill. No one would have to pay for a browser. At all. Mozilla is 100% free. ie is 25% free (or so), netscape is 50% free. Including the browser (any/all/whatever) is not what I have a problem with. I dont like the lawsuits going on personally, I hate lawyers.

I dont know why aol bought netscape, but I dont like business things. And if they bought RedHat, they could help move Linux onto the desktop. AOL could be *THAT* application. But I dont think it will happen. An alliance would be pretty cool for Linux though. But thats a different thread.
