Maybe not. Someone on another forum with the x32 version has the same error. Hes on the 78.01's, Im on the 77.77's. Both of us have a 7800GTX.

edit, another person with a GTX and the 78.03's gets the same error.
Same error for me. I'm running a 6800GT on 77.77's. Downloading the new 78.01's from nVidia's website now to see what happens.

EDIT: 78.01 official drivers do not work either. This pisses me off, it's not like I have substandard hardware or something. Make it work developers, I want to see this game run!

It doesn't play that great on my system which I expected. Good thing I'm upgrading soon. It chopped every now and then with all high settings and AA was turned off at 1024x768. My system specs:

P4 3.0C
P4C800-E Deluxe
1 gig OCZ Gold Rev.2 pc3700
Radeon 9800 pro

6800 Go 256mb 1920x1200, just played through a full skirmish, and it was all at high, ~30fps the whole time... HDR was the only thing turned off and that's because it looked like @$$ in my opinion... Could defininately use some AA though. Some of the animations are great, a settler tried to attack one of my forts, the fort shot a cannon at him and they flew 30 feet through the air... It was awesome.

odd, i played 10x7 no aa everything high except fro 1 which is low(would only let me select low). campaign mission 1, 50-70fps.

amd64 2.4ghz
1ggi pc3200 ram
9800pro oced.

obviously you want the best fps as possible

but because this isnt like a first person shooter fps isnt probably AS important as games like BF2 and what not

im not saying low fps is good, just saying is it EQUALLY important?

supa bring out a good point. I, myself don't need this thing to run at 100fps but I do want it to be smooth and silky as can be. But 100fps AND smooth and silky would be nice as well 😀

while im bored waiting for it to finish downloading, i ask

how can i check my fps in the game?

console command? or are you guys just using fraps

Hmmph, doesnt want to start for me. Says it may be a corrupt driver, D3D not installed right, hardware acceleration disabled, or the workstation locked.

Perhaps it dosnt like x64, which is what I am on.

Got the same damn thing! Man this sucks! Anyone have a fix? I'm using 78.01.

Rig in sig. 77.77 drivers, game works great. Very fast loading times. aa x4 af x8 all settings max. HDR was cool but it did look bad because it was only applied to the buildings and it looks kind of funny as the buildings were extremely bright and everything else was dark. As for destructable enviroments maybe I missed something, but when a miner threw some dynamite at a trading post, part of the roof exploded, but not at all in the place he threw it. Maybe I just missed it, or you need the PhysX chip for it to work. It would be cool though if you can zoom in more like in rome: total war. All in all a cool game with a few new features over Aoe2, however I think I'll be getting FEAR when it comes out instead of this. It's a good game, but it's nothing special at all.

The graphics don't seem as impressive as they looked in the screenshots. I turned everything up to high and at 1280x960 I'm getting about 30fps on my plain X800 / A64 3200+ / 1GB DDR. Have to say I'm a little dissapointed so far.
