AoE3 demo

Not my kind of game.. but its supposed to look good, and support HDR? Ill try it out.

Steady 560kb/sec took only a few mins.
 
Ok, is anyone else feeling a little laggy when using the arrow keys to look around? It feels kinda unnatural. I'm running this on a 2.5 GHZ x2 6800GT.
 
Hmmph, doesnt want to start for me. Says it may be a corrupt driver, D3D not installed right, hardware acceleration disabled, or the workstation locked.

Perhaps it dosnt like x64, which is what I am on.
 
Maybe not. Someone on another forum with the x32 version has the same error. Hes on the 78.01's, Im on the 77.77's. Both of us have a 7800GTX.

edit, another person with a GTX and the 78.03's gets the same error.
 
Just played it (but it froze, like every other game)...10x7, everything on high (shader settings on very high)...ran smooth, no stuttering, but this is a game where 12x10/9 is almost a must.

looks good though (check out my "general hardware" thread and help me fix my compy so i can play it more!)

Did it feel laggy when moving the viewing area??

Edit: Guess not. Why am I getting tha feeling!!!!!!
 
No Im not going back to stock, that shouldnt make a difference. Ill wait a while and see if there is a problem with the demo itself. If not, Ill try stock, I guess. 🙁
 
lots of people are reportedly getting many errors installing, still it looks hella cool from some of the screen shots people are posting. Guy from the OP's link is getting 50FPS at "FULL maxed out settings" sans the shadows. Not sure of the res, he's on a 6800GT apparently.
 
just downloaded, installed....lovely!!! played at 16x12 at full settings....no lagg whatsoever

The framerate is slightly below 30fps, so in a way its somewhat laggy...but since its constant, it feels fine to play on.
