My hair started thinning when I was 24, and 5 years later, if I can still grow a full head, but the top is much thinner.
Two years ago, I went for the shaved head. When My wife first saw me, she said, no ###sy for you, b/c she didnt' like it at all. At that time, I was goinog with the razor shaved head.....but there's a mole on the back of my head that I always cut the everliving sh!t out of when I do that, so I've just switched to using a barbors hair trimmer (whatever they're called with the attachments) and shave it wihtout any attachments once every two weeks.
I love it. It took a lot of getting used to.....but it's definitely the best way to go. Now my wife rubs it for good luck---and has goten used to it and likes it.
THe best part is that with the shaved look....I still notice that my scalp-line is thinner, but my hair's so short, I could give a flip. I don't feel gay in front of the mirror anymore looking at my hair strands, or worry about what falls off when I shower.
I admit I looked into Rogaine and Propcecia.
Rogaine got the fart-on-it b/c it's a lifetime treatment. It works in the majority of cases (don't rmember the %) to regrow hair, but it's about $30 a month, and once you quit using it, you lose all the regrown hair.
Propecia got the no way in hell b/c some of the test group experienced sexual dysfunction.
There's other methods out there----avacore for one that are more natural....but getting myself used to shaving my head and what it looks like allowed me to lose whatever vanity I thought was torturing me when I first realized that my mother's father had indeed passed his recessive gene through the generations.
