lol wow mason is the only person that unnerves hannibal

messing with a kid so you can get tears for a cocktail = pretty fucked up

Just realized the last episode was something like episode 10. IMDB suggests that there are only 2 episodes left. It's all going down...

finally alana wakes up

mason verger: pedophile, drinks orphan tears, sterilizes pregnant sister - what else can they add to make him more of a scumbag?

if anyone is wondering about the food at the beginning:

The birds must be taken alive; once captured they are either blinded or kept in a lightless box for a month to gorge on millet, grapes, and figs, a technique apparently taken from the decadent cooks of Imperial Rome who called the birds beccafico, or "fig-pecker". When they've reached four times their normal size, they're drowned in a snifter of Armagnac.

...well that was crazy

lol @ hannibal's face as mason stabs his chair

i think the face peeling/eating portion was the goriest scene i've seen on broadcast tv

He doesn't like disrespectful people...

Definitely hardcore gory scene. The gamma on my TV is low enough that dark scenes look dark so I couldn't make out the fine details of the face removal.

Nice "original" story for Mason Verger. Wonder what his sister will do now and if he'll come back before it's "appropriate". There's only like one episode left.

correction, he dislikes "discourteous" people.

i assume mason and margot will be back if the show makes it to season 6 or 7. silence of lambs is the goal for season 5.

fingers crossed for red dragon in season 4. i really want to see how they do to the will/hannibal dynamic when they are trying to figure out the tooth fairy. i've only seen manhunter so i dont know if hannibal's part in the story is that small.

Do I even have to say it?

What the f**k was that!?!

He guts everyone like fish and then gets on a plane. What happened to freezing his passport? He's smart enough to get past that... Almost looks like a series finale or a door to let everyone out of their contracts. Is this how the book goes?

Nice surprise with Abigail still being alive for a few minutes. Good makeup on Kacey Rohl making her look like complete trash -- she's on another show, tidied up, and looks gorgeous.

I have to wait almost a year for this to conclude? Damn. At least it's renewed.

that was fuckin' great.

i think fuller assumed the show wasn't getting renewed and pulled out all the stops, just leaving enough open.

the scar on abigail's neck was a nice touch

i don't remember when hannibal took alana's bullets from the mag

I think the scene implied
it was all in his mind palace. He mentioend some areas were "bright", I think, and it's a bit much to swallow his psychiatrist who was previously on the run with him would hang out with him.

Maybe. That'd make some sense. It would explain everything before it because, while I can believe that Hannibal would be the one to pull it off with his skills, that was just weird at the same time.

What happened to Will's piece? He had it readied when he walked in the house. And Alana should have landed two floors down with her own piece relatively close.

So it did happen... Spoilers, duh, and a small glimpse of season 3.

Sure looked like a series finale to me..but who knows. I would have thought if it was a series finale they would end it at some point right before Silence.

Binge streaming on Amazon right now. Did thread search for "Tobias" and did not see anything. Excellent dialog and disagreement between Tobias and Hannibal around episode 8.

Show update from entertainment news... MASSIVE spoilers.

Red Dragon! News came out last month about people being casted for Francis Dolarhyde and Will's wife. Something about the show jumping ahead a few years in season 3 - not sure if around the beginning or end.

Catching up with the movies to bump ratings? If this is right, then season 4 is Silence of the Lambs since Red Dragon the movie ends with Clarice dropping by? Hope the show lasts another few seasons.

season 2 was already off book as far as Will was concerned. while bringing him and the vergers in helped build for the later plotlines, the initial capture of Hannibal was beginning to be overdue compared to the books.
jumping to red dragon is interesting given that most reviewers acknowledge that Hannibal is the star of the show/book and his role in RD is generally much smaller. fuller indicated previous interviews that they would be doing RD and Silence if they could get the rights to clarice. im not sure you can drag out a full season of capturing Hannibal since there is nothing in the books to base it on, so 5 eps to resolve, timeskip, into red dragon sounds about right.
