I like white crappie better. I've actually never had bass, though I used to catch them every day. We used to have catfish like 3 times a week, unless someone ran our trout lines. :|

Yep, look for Lake Ontario on a map. Look where Canada meets the US east of the lake. That river divides Canada from the US. That's the St. Lawrence. Far as fishing for carp, go for it. I think you are saying you are going to go just to fish, not to eat what you catch. Go for it and have fun with Spunky.
