Anyone using Google/Apple/ Samsung Pay for their purchases?

I've been buying my groceries via Samsung. I just use the fingerprint scanner on my debit card, hold my phone to CC machine and my items are paid.

The stares I get from old people is priceless. :)

Samsung pay works with any point of sale card device, unlike google pay, which is virtually useless since it works as only a few places that have NFC enabled point of sale scanners.

I love it. It's the only thing keeping me from using my Nexus phone.
Nobody gets it works with the magnetic swipers.
I buy cheap T shirts at Old Navy, they must be under some flawed instruction by management, both of my recent transactions basically accused me of credit card fraud, or "that's not supposed to work, don't use that again here".

I used apple pay when Discover offered 10% cashback on it. Never since. Don't see the point.

No, I don't. Can't be bothered. I use an Amex for everything and it's easier to take out than my phone and the transaction takes all but 5 seconds to complete. I don't see how sliding or inserting a CC is harder than taking out the phone and tapping on the screen and holding it up against whatever machine. As far as security goes, whatever. As I said, it's an Amex. Security is kind of the last thing you need to worry about when you use an Amex card.

Do you need to have a 3G/4G signal when using it? Sometimes it's unavailable in a store and I don't leave it on so I'd need to turn it on if so.

Is the payment instantaneous or do you still have to wait like 10 seconds for it to complete like a credit card?

The biggest thing for me would be the time it takes to unlock the phone and get the card up on the screen. My credit card is on the back of the phone case so it's already fast and I'm not sure how I can gain from this...

Offers me zero added convenience over just using a card. Since I like to have SOME cash on my and need to have my driver's license and metrocard on me, among other things, that means carrying a wallet is part of my EDC. So for now - pay by phone=useless.

Too much of a pain in the ass. I seen someone at Tenbuck do this and I was like, you could have just swiped your damn card lady. FFS! She was tap, tapping the screen and shit just to pay for a damn coffee.

most chip readers are sloooooow, apply pay is much faster everywhere I use it, like 20 seconds a transaction faster. Google Wallet might be nice, but I have a rooted phone and could never figure out how to get it to hide the root so the damn app would let me pay. I use Apple Pay all the time. Unless a store has the Clover POS system the chip shit seems so slow I don't even want to use the damn card.

I mostly use it for groceries and I grocery shop every 2-3 days.

Take out wallet
Open wallet
Take out card
Swipe card
Enter PIN
Push a bunch of buttons
Wait for authentication
Press some more buttons
Remove Card
Open wallet
Return Card
Put wallet away

Apple pay:
Take phone out of pocket
Do thumb print
Put phone away

I pretty much consistently forget. I don't know what changed but the chip readers in our area are really fast now. Also, I've had problems in the past finding the "happy spot" on the terminals because different manufacturers do it... differently. It's not cool to be flailing away trying to get it to sync when other people are waiting in line.

Not sure on the data part, it may not be necessary. However, I've found it to be much faster than chip cards in my area. I also think you don't have to sign anything. Key is making sure you can quickly find the 'sweet' spot for both phone and terminal. To ward off this I generally start the process before the cashier finishes and if I can't get it to work get out my card. I've had better luck with Apple phones and this just due to where they put the NFC chip.

I use my Samsung Gear S2 watch to pay at a lot of places. All I have to do is hold a button down on my watch for 2 seconds and hold my wrist up to the cc reader. Almost always gets a comment from the cashier like "you can do that?"

You know what's so damn funny? They just started to upgraded POS with chip card reading capability and now we have a bunch of people wanting to throw a wrench into the works by using their extra limb it seems which has all kinds of vectors for hackers.
