I bet it could work good, but you probably have to make sure that the bed is REALLY clean for it to adhere well.

it would probably be a better idea just go with a rhino liner or line-x...professionally done of course ;)

I thought they scratch the bed pretty good (or bad) in order for it to stick?

Sell your truck and buy a Prius.

Edit-Just kidding, Line-X is top notch. That's what I would go with. I had a Line-X liner in my Tundra and it was pretty much indestructible. Rhino liners end up looking like crap after about 6-8 months (all dull and faded). Those do-it-yourself kits look pretty bad too, at least the ones I've seen.

Have you seen Herculiner/Durabak? That seems to be the "standard" of DIY bedliner. I haven't seen either in person, but I have the internet :D

Also, anyone happen to know of a softer rubberized liner instead of one that hardens like plastic? The sort that has enough grip you could, for example, drop a wrench on it and it wouldn't go sliding around when you went around corners? Would be less durable, but more sound absorbent, and (duh) things wouldn't bang around corner.

No, I have seen many crappy looking DIY bed liners installed though. I'd go with the professional spray in liner for looks and durability.

The Line-X was nice because I could put large objects back there and they wouldn't slide around. You could literally throw logs in the back of that and not dent or ding the bed.

I beleive my dad bought some Herculiner stuff from Menards about 4-5 years ago. We took an afternoon and applied it. Had to rough up the bed w/sandpaper, wash up all the dust and wait for it to dry and then apply (don't think there was a primer, can't remember for sure).

We used rollers and paint brushes to apply it.

I think it looks great. Very durable and hasn't chipped/peeled off in the 4-5 years he's had it.

Best thing is that it was only $60 IIRC and there was a rebate with it.

edit: my only complaint is that the stuff is tough to clean. You can spray it down with a house but if you spill something gooey you really need to scrub to get it off.

edit 2: plus you can use the leftover stuff to paint your case :D Mine looks pretty sweet.

I saw this thread and thought. Why would you post about spraying something on your matress so that when you wet the bed it doesn't ruin the matress.

Definitely. Line-X >>>> Rhinoliner
